Due to the prolonged heat, people's demand for electrical equipment has increased; the risk of explosion can occur at any time.
“To ensure fire prevention and fighting safety during the hot season, the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Police recommend that establishments and households strictly comply with regulations on fire prevention and fighting safety and escape; strictly manage and safely use fire sources, heat sources, electrical systems and equipment, and flammable and explosive substances. To gain knowledge and skills in fire prevention and fighting, people are requested to visit the address: canhsatpccc.gov.vn community guidance directory”, an officer of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police noted.
Not only instructing people on fire prevention and rescue plans, the police force has also deployed and promoted propaganda work, guiding people to raise fire prevention awareness, especially in households.
“The model of “Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Group” is increasingly effective in these hot summer days. People with adjacent houses and businesses have become more aware of fire prevention and fighting. Each house and household equips itself with a fire extinguisher so that when a fire occurs, it can be handled promptly before calling professional forces to respond and extinguish the fire,” said Mr. La Van Tuat, Head of Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Group No. 8, Residential Group 12, Dong Ba Ward ( Hue City).
In hot weather, the risk of fire and explosion at conditional business establishments is also very high. Therefore, Hue City Police directed professional teams to regularly strengthen inspection and reminder work; at the same time, require owners of karaoke establishments, bars, and dance floors to strictly comply with fire prevention and fighting work.
“Currently, in Hue City, there are 15 bar, pub and beer businesses... mainly concentrated in Phu Hoi, Phu Nhuan, Xuan Phu wards... In addition to strictly ensuring security and order, Hue City Police require business owners to guarantee and commit to comply with fire and explosion regulations. When an incident occurs, it is necessary to promptly notify the police force for timely coordination in handling,” said Lieutenant Colonel Pham Trung Chinh, Deputy Head of Hue City Police.
In order to continuously improve rescue skills when fire and explosion incidents occur, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police has sent professional teams to facilities, agencies and units to instruct cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers on fire prevention and fighting operations.
In the hypothetical situation, Hue Central Hospital was operating and had many patients being treated there when suddenly a fire broke out. Immediately after discovering the incident, the Hue Central Hospital fire fighting force quickly arrived with available equipment to put out the fire and called the professional fire fighting force for help.
Just a few minutes later, officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police arrived at the scene, coordinated with the local fire fighting force to guide and support the patients to safety; quickly controlled and extinguished the fire.
The drill helped the fire prevention force and staff at the hospital grasp possible fire and explosion situations; the process of organizing fire fighting, improving the ability to apply fire fighting tactics, perfecting the ability to operate and skillfully use the equipped fire fighting equipment and tools to prevent and minimize damage when a fire occurs.
“We need to be proactive and avoid being passive and surprised. We always advise people and businesses, agencies, units and enterprises to do so every time the hot season begins. In addition to equipping necessary equipment, households, agencies, units and enterprises need to raise awareness in using electrical equipment to avoid fire and explosion incidents that can happen at any time,” Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thanh Phong, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police Department, advised.
