(GLO)- On the morning of May 31, the Agricultural Service Center (ASC) of Chu Se district (Gia Lai province) coordinated with the People's Committee of Hbong commune to organize a training course on commercial Hmong chicken farming techniques for 60 delegates who are Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the Farmers' Association of 15 communes and towns and households of Hbong commune.

At the training session, the delegates were introduced by technical staff of the District Service Center about the Hmong chicken breed; origin, distribution and productivity of Hmong chicken; how to choose chicken breeds; techniques for designing and building breeding cages; area and density of breeding; temperature, humidity, ventilation of breeding cages; techniques for brooding chicks; how to make biological bedding; preparation of chicken farming tools and layout; preparation of feed and breeding techniques; cleaning of breeding cages and farming tools. At the same time, instructions were given on how to prevent and control common diseases in chickens, such as: Coccidiosis avium, Newcastle, Pasteurellosis, Marek, salmonellosis, typhus avium, Gumboro (Infections bursal disease-IBD), infectious bronchitis.
Through the training course, it is aimed at creating conditions for farmers participating in the model and some households who want to participate in learning to grasp the techniques of raising commercial Hmong chickens with high efficiency. After the training program, the Chu Se District Agricultural Service Center will select 2 households to participate in the chicken raising model (1 household from Hbong commune, 1 household from Dun commune) and provide 1,000 Hmong chickens (500 chickens/model), in which the district supports 70% of the chickens, 100% of the feed, and vaccines to prevent diseases for the chickens; households participating in the model will pay for the construction of barns, care, and 30% of the chickens.
