Also attending the meeting were: Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; leaders of central departments, ministries and branches; leaders of press agencies and 150 journalists and outstanding journalists representing the press community nationwide.
Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, sent his best wishes and deep gratitude to all those working in the field of journalism. The President emphasized that over the past 100 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always been a vanguard force on the ideological front, a trusted companion of the people, a bridge between the Party, the State and the people, making an important contribution to the cause of national liberation, national construction and defense.

Faced with the increasingly high demands and tasks of the new era, the President suggested that journalists continue to train, maintain political will and professional ethics, constantly improve their professional capacity, enhance their "mind-vision-talent", maintain the passion for the profession and be absolutely loyal to the Party's revolutionary ideals, the country's development aspirations, and closely connect with the people's lives.
According to the President, the press not only reflects reality in a vivid, truthful and convincing way, but also must be a leading force in the fight against corruption and negativity; resolutely refute false and hostile arguments, contribute to protecting the Party's ideological foundation and strengthen people's trust in the regime. At the same time, the press needs to discover, promote and spread good and humane values in society, becoming necessary in the era of multi-dimensional information and many challenges.

The President urgently requested the improvement of institutions and policies so that journalists can “live by their profession”, have conditions to develop their capacity, and commit to their work for a long time. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the role of veteran journalists, the “big trees” of the country’s journalism, in inspiring, sharing experiences and providing career orientation to the younger generation, thereby preserving and developing the core values of Vietnam’s revolutionary journalism.
At the meeting, delegates shared their enthusiasm about the opportunities and challenges facing the press in the digital age: from innovation in content, working methods, application of technology to adapting to the public's communication behavior. These issues require the press to constantly innovate comprehensively, while still maintaining its revolutionary nature, always serving the Fatherland and the people as President Ho Chi Minh 's sacred advice: "Press cadres are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons."
Before that, the delegation offered incense and commemorated the heroic martyrs at Bac Son Memorial and held a ceremony to report to Uncle Ho at house number 67, President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site.
