The delegations included Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Party Central Committee members, representatives of Party agencies, the National Assembly, the Government and a number of ministries, branches and socio-political organizations. The wreaths of the delegations bore the inscription “Deeply mourning comrade Khamtay Siphandone”.

After the funeral, President Luong Cuong was moved to write in the condolence book: "Deeply mourning comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, an outstanding leader, an outstanding son of the Lao people, a loyal revolutionary soldier who sacrificed his whole life for the independence, freedom, happiness of the people and the prosperous development of Laos."
