Vietnam and Belarus have a strong traditional friendship, built on the foundation of mutual trust and respect. The Vietnamese people always remember the great and valuable support that the Belarusian people, and the people of the former Soviet Union, gave Vietnam during the resistance war for independence, as well as in the post-war reconstruction of the country. Such sincere feelings and assistance have laid the foundation for the comprehensive partnership between the two countries today.

Over the years, economic and parliamentary cooperation have become important pillars, contributing to deepening bilateral relations. In terms of economy, the Visa Exemption Agreement for Ordinary Passport Holders between the two countries, effective from January 30, 2025, together with the activities of the Vietnam - Belarus Intergovernmental Commission, have opened up many opportunities to promote trade, investment and cooperation in areas such as industry, agriculture, science and technology and education.

Vietnam hopes to exploit the potential for cooperation with Belarus in the manufacturing, machinery production and clean energy industries, which are Belarus' strengths, to bring practical benefits to both sides.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the Vietnamese National Assembly highly appreciated the increasingly close relationship with the House of Representatives of Belarus, especially through the activities of the Working Group on Cooperation between the two legislative bodies. Exchanges, sharing of legislative experience and coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) have contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and trust.
