Within the framework of the official visit to Bulgaria, on September 25, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov had a successful meeting and met with the press to announce the results.

Speaking to the press of the two countries, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his joy at his first official visit to Bulgaria in his capacity as Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam; and sincerely thanked the National Assembly, Government and people of Bulgaria for giving the high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam a warm, thoughtful and friendly reception.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the two National Assembly Chairmen had a successful meeting, discussing in depth the orientations and measures to strengthen and consolidate the friendly relations and improve the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries on the channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly, people-to-people exchange and promoting cooperation in the fields of economics , trade, investment, culture, science - technology, education - training, labor and people-to-people exchange, connecting businesses with businesses, localities with localities...

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue warmly welcomed and thanked the Bulgarian National Assembly for ratifying the Investment Protection Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVIPA) with an absolute majority of votes right before the visit of the Vietnamese National Assembly Delegation. Along with promoting the effectiveness of the Vietnam-European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the early ratification of EVIPA by the parliaments of the European Union (EU) member states will certainly bring the economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and the EU in general, and Vietnam and EU member states in particular, to a new level, commensurate with the potential and aspirations of both sides.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that immediately after the talks, the two sides signed a new Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Office of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Secretariat of the Bulgarian National Assembly, and cooperation documents in the fields of culture, education, tourism, and cooperation between localities...; At the same time, he shared with the press of the two countries important activities that will be carried out during the remaining time of the visit, especially meetings with the President and Prime Minister of Bulgaria and the Legal Policy Forum to promote bilateral cooperation, speeches on foreign policy and Vietnam - Bulgaria relations...

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue believes that the visit will be a great success, not only contributing to the relationship between the two countries' parliaments but also enhancing the Vietnam - Bulgaria relationship to a new height. Regarding economic cooperation, the two National Assembly Chairmen agreed that Vietnam will continue to support Bulgaria in penetrating the ASEAN market and with its geostrategic position in the Black Sea, Bulgaria will support Vietnam in further penetrating the EU market as well as the markets of the Balkan countries.

For his part, Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov expressed his great pleasure to welcome National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on an official visit to Bulgaria; at the same time, he announced that the Bulgarian National Assembly had ratified the EVIPA and hoped that both sides would exploit the advantages that the EVIPA brings.

Affirming the success of the talks, National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov emphasized that the two sides mentioned the areas of cooperation between the two countries, with special attention paid to establishing joint ventures to promote bilateral cooperation, exploiting the potential for cooperation in waterways and seaports; promoting tourism and cultural cooperation... The two sides also exchanged and discussed the role of Bulgaria in Eastern Europe and Vietnam in the ASEAN region.

The Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the talks have made positive contributions to the relationship between Vietnam and Bulgaria, with many potential areas in which the two countries can cooperate to bring the Vietnam-Bulgaria relationship to a new height, with mutual trust and strongly promoting people-to-people exchange, improving the effectiveness of trade and investment between the two countries./.
