To prepare for the new school year 2025-2026 in the context of the province's recent merger, there have been many changes in state management, including strong decentralization of many tasks to the commune level. The Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training have met many times with communes and schools to carefully prepare for the opening ceremony.
Ready for the first day of school
Although the new school year 2025-2026 will not start until the end of August, since the end of July, many teachers of Loc Tan A Primary School (Loc Tan border commune) have been at school preparing desks, chairs, and classrooms to welcome students back to school. To create a lively atmosphere on the opening day and create momentum for students, the school's teachers, regardless of the sun or rain, together created a painting in front of the school gate on the theme of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2. To complete this meaningful painting, the school's teachers spent more than 3 days "overcoming the sun and rain" but were full of excitement.
Principal of Loc Tan Secondary School Pham Ngoc Tram shared: In the new school year 2025-2026, the school has 700 students. Up to now, the school has notified parents about the official school opening date so that parents can prepare books, school supplies, and uniforms for students to return to school. The school has proactively reviewed facilities and teachers to prepare for the opening day in the best possible conditions. In particular, in order to ensure that no student is left behind, in this new school year, the school has directed homeroom teachers to closely monitor the situation and conditions of students with difficult circumstances to help.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Principal of Loc Thien Secondary School (Loc Thanh Commune), said: This new school year, the school is very excited and expects to have many innovations in facilities, because the province has conducted a survey and developed an investment plan to upgrade the school's classrooms according to Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes. If invested, in the coming time, the school will have more spacious and modern facilities, especially since the boarding needs of students are quite large. In the immediate future, the school still ensures the best possible conditions for the new school year, ready for students to return to school and enter the new school year.
Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thao, a parent whose child is entering grade 5 at Loc Thien Primary and Secondary School this year, said: Without waiting for the school to announce the new school year schedule, she has already bought all the necessary books, school supplies, and new uniforms for her child. After 3 months of summer, she really wants to send her child back to school to maintain the learning routine, and at the same time hopes that her child will have a fun learning space and interact with friends.
Lots of fun from the new school year
In Trang Dai ward - the ward with the most pressure on schools in Dong Nai province, this new school year, the school has great joy when the new 5-storey classroom block with 16 classrooms and functional rooms was completed right before the opening of the new school year 2025-2026. From this new school year, the school will no longer have to go to neighboring schools, including schools that are up to 3km away.

Principal of Trang Dai Secondary School Pham Thi Hai Anh happily shared: "After many years of waiting, this new school year will be the happiest year because the school's facilities have stabilized, and we can think about gradually switching to 2 sessions/day."
As has become a tradition, every time the new school year is about to begin, Long Binh Tan Primary School (Long Hung Ward) has officers and soldiers from Division 905 come to help clean up from inside the classrooms to outside the school gate. Every electric fan in a high position in the rooms, even the broken light bulbs that teachers have difficulty removing for cleaning, are all disassembled and cleaned by the soldiers.
Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Thuy shared: “Thanks to the army, it only took half a morning for the school to be green - clean - beautiful, ready to welcome students. If we teachers had done it, it would have taken several days.”
Meanwhile, Principal of Nguyen An Ninh Primary School (Tam Hiep Ward) Hoang Thi Ngoc said: In the new school year 2025-2026, in addition to new first graders, the school also has many new students in other classes from Binh Phuoc province (old) transferring to study when their parents change jobs. At first, the students will certainly feel confused, but the school has done everything possible to reassure parents, and the students quickly adapt to the new learning conditions and environment. In order to prepare carefully for the new school year, in the context of an increase in students, the school has reviewed the facilities and teaching staff to proactively implement the school year plan well.
According to the latest plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee, preschool children, students in grades 1, 9 and 12 will return to school on August 25, while the remaining grades will return to school on August 28. The opening day of the new school year 2025-2026 will take place as in previous years on September 5, but this year, students in the whole province will join students nationwide in the same opening time according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
According to Director of Dong Nai Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company Vo An Ninh, in preparation for the new school year 2025-2026, the company has implemented a plan to supply books, notebooks, learning and teaching materials to schools in the old Dong Nai province since March. Up to now, this work has been basically completed and there is no shortage of textbooks as in previous years. For the old Binh Phuoc province, the work of distributing textbooks is currently the responsibility of Binh Phuoc Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company.
Speaking more about textbook prices, Mr. Vo An Ninh said: "The price of books this year is basically stable, so parents do not need to worry too much, but they need to pay attention to avoid buying fake books."
