The competition organized by the Youth Union of the Intermediate Dance School is a key activity within the framework of the program of activities to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on March 26, towards celebrating the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh City Intermediate Dance School (June 9, 1986 - June 9, 2026).
The Organizing Committee awarded medals and certificates to contestants who actively contributed to the success of the Thai Ly Dance Talent Competition in 2024.
At the final night, Mr. Tran Van Hiep - Secretary of the School Youth Union, Head of the Organizing Committee shared that the competition named after the late Professor and People's Artist Thai Ly has a great significance to pay tribute to and honor the life, career and great contributions of the late Professor and People's Artist Thai Ly to the country's dance art in general and the school's training career in particular. The competition is oriented to become an annual noble academic award for union members and young people studying at the School.

The contest attracted a large number of union members and young people of the school to participate with nearly 60 contestants and 34 highly artistic entries. After the preliminary round held on March 31, the Organizing Committee selected the Top 9 excellent contestants of Group A and the Top 9 excellent contestants of Group B to compete in the final night.
"I think all the contestants present in the final round have won with themselves, in the journey of daily efforts with their own passion for the art of dance," Mr. Hiep emphasized.
The organizers presented flowers and a thank you letter to the competition's Jury.
People's Artist Ha The Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association, Chairman of the Jury, acknowledged that the Competition has gathered many rich and colorful genres of works. Most of the contestants have shown positive development in terms of technique, dance performance style, as well as conveying the ideas and content of the works to the audience.
In particular, many contestants have demonstrated their talent and creativity through each work, knowing how to incorporate scripts and stories with profound meaning, thereby bringing unique marks to the competition.
The organizers awarded A Prize to 2 outstanding works at the contest.
As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 02 A prizes to the Contemporary Ballet work "Chroma" by contestant Tran Dieu Mai (Group A) and the Contemporary Dance work "Return" by contestant Nguyen Huu Duc (Group B).
Two (02) B prizes went to the Folk Dance work "Happy Day in the Village" by contestants Nguyen Nhat Phuong, Tran Ngoc Ha Phuong, Tran Bich Tram and the Contemporary Dance work "Nameless" by contestants Gaveau Sofia Ba, Gaveau Alizee Tran Morgane.
Two (02) C prizes were awarded by the Organizing Committee to contestant Pham Vu Phi Long with the folk dance "Khất" and contestants Cao Vu Quyen and Nguyen Thanh Trieu Nhi with the folk dance "Tham".
02 works were honored to win B Prize at the competition.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the Impressive Talent Contestant Prize and the Promising Talent Contestant Prize to 04 special works at the contest.

Professor, People's Artist Thai Ly, whose real name is Nguyen Dinh Thai (1930-1992), is a giant in the Vietnamese dance industry. He is one of the founders of dance drama and revolutionary dance art. He is also the founder of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance School as Principal.
His career is associated with classic dance and dance drama works such as: Doi bo ( music by Nguyen Dinh Tich), Canh chim va anh mat troi ( music by Xuan Hoa), Katu ( music by Nguyen Dinh Tich, co-authored with Meritorious Artist Ngan Quy); dance poetry Hai hoa dang Bac ( music by Vinh Cat), dance drama Ba me mien Nam ( music by Xuan Hoa, Nguyen Dinh Tich), Go to the street ( music by Luu Huu Phuoc), Bai ca hy vong ( music by Van Ky, Truong Nam)...
