Da Nang issues sanctions to punish street vendors who stalk and solicit tourists

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a document on strengthening management and handling of street vendors, stalking and soliciting tourists to preserve and promote a civilized, friendly and safe tourism environment in the city.

Specifically, requesting the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to direct the strengthening of inspection of compliance with regulations on ensuring tourism environment, security, order, and traffic safety; Publicly posting prices and fees for services at tourism service establishments, food establishments, tourist areas and spots in the management area, strictly handling violations of the law according to regulations...

At the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of food service establishments, places of worship, tourist areas and spots in the area, to prevent the occurrence of wandering begging, disguised begging, street vending, and clinging to customers.

There are measures to manage and educate local beggars who often wander around begging in the area, to prevent the situation from recurring.

Request the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to be responsible for directing market management boards under local management to strengthen propaganda, prevention, and coordination with functional forces to promptly handle beggars, disguised beggars, street vendors, and solicitors in market areas under their management.

In addition, step up propaganda work on media, arrange forces to inspect and strictly handle vagrants, beggars in disguise, people who take advantage of or bring children, the elderly, and people with disabilities to sell goods on the street, or follow and solicit customers in restricted areas, tourist areas, scenic spots, and food and beverage business routes, etc.

Requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to pay attention to directing and taking responsibility before the city leaders for handling the situation of street vendors, wandering beggars, disguised beggars, and clinging to and soliciting tourists in the management area, ensuring a safe, civilized, and friendly tourism environment.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to monitor, inspect and urge coordination in the fight against stalking and soliciting tourists...
