Certification of resolution to establish Go Cong city in Tien Giang province

On March 22, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue signed Resolution No. 1013/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement and establishment of wards in Go Cong town and the establishment of Go Cong city, Tien Giang province.

The resolution clearly states that the entire natural area of 1.36 km2 and population of 10,228 people of Ward 4 will be merged into Ward 1. After the merger, Ward 1 will have a natural area of 1.81 km2 and a population of 19,589 people.

Ward 1 borders Ward 2, Ward 5, Long Chanh Ward and Long Hung Ward. The entire natural area of 1.09 km2 and population of 9,992 people of Ward 3 are merged into Ward 2. After the merger, Ward 2 has a natural area of 1.80 km2 and a population of 19,500 people.

Ward 2 borders Ward 1, Ward 5, Long Hung Ward and Long Thuan Ward.

Establish wards of Go Cong town as follows:

Long Chanh ward was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 7.87 km2 and population of 8,596 people of Long Chanh commune. Long Chanh ward borders Ward 1, Long Hoa ward, Long Hung ward, Binh Xuan commune, Tan Trung commune and Go Cong Tay district.

Long Hoa ward was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 6.59 km2 and the population of 10,380 people of Long Hoa commune. Long Hoa ward borders Ward 5, Long Chanh ward, Long Thuan ward; Go Cong Dong district and Go Cong Tay district.

Establish Long Hung ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 6.51 km2 and population of 11,201 people of Long Hung commune. Long Hung ward borders ward 1, ward 2, Long Chanh ward, Long Thuan ward, Tan Trung commune and Go Cong Dong district;

Long Thuan ward was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 6.45 km2 and population of 11,538 people of Long Thuan commune. Long Thuan ward borders ward 2, ward 5, Long Hoa ward, Long Hung ward and Go Cong Dong district.

Go Cong city was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 101.69 km2 and the population of 151,937 people of Go Cong town, Tien Giang province. Go Cong city borders Go Cong Dong district, Go Cong Tay district and Long An province.

After the arrangement, Go Cong city has 10 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 5, Long Chanh, Long Hoa, Long Hung, Long Thuan and 03 communes: Binh Dong, Binh Xuan, Tan Trung.

Tien Giang province has 11 district-level administrative units, including 8 districts, 1 town and 2 cities; 170 commune-level administrative units, including 138 communes, 24 wards and 8 towns.

The Resolution also resolved to establish the People's Court of Go Cong city on the basis of inheriting the People's Court of Go Cong town, Tien Giang province.

Establish Go Cong City People's Procuracy on the basis of inheriting Go Cong Town People's Procuracy, Tien Giang province.

This Resolution comes into force from May 1, 2024.
