The brilliant golden season in Sa Pa usually begins at the end of August and lasts until the end of September. The ideal places to see the rice fields are Muong Hoa valley, known as the “giant embroidery” of the H'Mong people, with each field softly curving and hugging the mountainside.

Ta Van and Ta Phin villages have a peaceful and simple beauty, with rice fields interspersed with wooden houses and smoke from kitchens at dusk. Meanwhile, Lao Chai and Y Linh Ho villages offer a wide-open view, where golden rice fields stretch to the horizon.
