Talking to Kinh te va Do thi reporter, Mr. Do Hoang Duong, Head of Tourism Management Department, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc province said that Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, together with the Law on Tourism was passed by the National Assembly and took effect from January 1, 2018. The Government, the Prime Minister and ministries and branches have also issued many resolutions and action programs, creating a solid foundation for developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

“Up to now, Vinh Phuc has made good use of its economic geographical advantages such as being close to the capital Hanoi, close to major cities, belonging to the key economic region of the North; advantages in tourism resources bestowed by nature such as Tam Dao National Park; Tam Dao resort, the complex of scenic areas Tay Thien, Dai Lai, Dam Vac; the system of historical, cultural and religious relics; intangible cultural values...

Vinh Phuc tourism has gradually affirmed its strengths in resort tourism, conference and seminar tourism, tourism combined with golf and spiritual tourism. Vinh Phuc tourism has gradually built its brand and become an attractive, safe and friendly destination." - Mr. Do Hoang Duong said.

In particular, promoting people's creativity in tourism activities not only enriches the economy but also enriches the culture of each land and each locality of Vinh Phuc.

Focusing resources on investing in key projects for tourism development

To create a breakthrough in developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, in recent years, Vinh Phuc province has always focused on upgrading and developing tourism infrastructure with public investment capital, projects focusing mainly on construction items such as roads, lighting, water supply and drainage...

Specifically, in the period of 2017 - 2023, the total State budget capital invested in the tourism sector in Vinh Phuc province is about 2,285 billion VND, of which investment in tourism infrastructure is 159.1 billion VND (accounting for 6.9% of the province's total investment capital in tourism). The capital source for tourism infrastructure accounts for a small proportion because the province focuses resources on investing in key projects, creating highlights to serve tourism development with a total capital of 2,193 billion VND.

In addition to the State budget, Vinh Phuc province has proactively created favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to participate in tourism development investment; improved the investment environment; proactively allocated land funds for tourism investment projects. Currently, Vinh Phuc has a total of 17 major projects of investors and a number of social investment projects in the tourism sector have been invested with a total capital of over 9,600 billion VND.

The province is campaigning to attract large investors to invest in urban areas combined with tourism, eco-tourism, and large-scale entertainment with committed investment values ​​from investors such as: Tam Dao 2 project of about 1 billion USD (by SunGroup Corporation); international horse racing track project with an investment capital of about 1.44 billion USD (by Gomax I&D Corporation of Korea)...

Large-scale projects like the above will have a strong impact, contributing to transforming the local economic structure towards gradually increasing the proportion of services, making Vinh Phuc one of the key tourism provinces of the country.

According to the results of a province-wide survey, as of December 2017, the tourism industry in Vinh Phuc had only about 28,900 workers, accounting for about 2.4% of the total workforce in the province, including 8,650 direct workers and over 20,000 indirect workers.

But by 2023, the tourism industry's workforce in Vinh Phuc had increased to 40,500 people, including 11,500 direct workers. The number of tourism industry workers tends to increase, reflecting the growing role of the industry and the effectiveness of socializing tourism activities.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc province, the management of planning, construction licensing, management of construction investment projects, construction quality management, housing management, urban development, tourism services... in the area in general have gradually become orderly, following the correct procedures and regulations; the quality of construction works meets requirements, promoting efficiency of use, saving construction investment capital.
