After that, Mr. Naoki Kusunose switched to coaching women's football, helping the Japanese U.17 women's team win the runner-up position at the 2016 U.17 World Cup. A year later, Mr. Kusunose led the Japanese U.16 team to third place at the 2017 U.16 Asia Championship.
Returning to the club level, Mr. Naoki Kusunose once led the Urawa Red Diamonds women's club. Under the coaching hand of the 1964-born coach, Urawa won the WE League (Japan's national women's football championship) in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons, and was voted the best coach of the tournament. Urawa is also in the same group as Ho Chi Minh City women's club in the Asian Cup 1 this season.
"Welcome the new breeze from the land of cherry blossoms," Binh Duong Club wrote on its personal page.
Mr. Naoki Kusunose will act as a professional assistant to coach Nguyen Anh Duc. After parting ways with coach Nguyen Cong Manh, Binh Duong Club appointed coach Anh Duc as interim manager. The former Vietnam national team player made his debut with Binh Duong in round 22, with a 0-0 draw at home against Quang Nam Club.

Binh Duong FC has drawn and lost all 7 recent matches in V-League. The series of unsuccessful matches caused coach Nguyen Cong Manh to choose to leave. Coach Nguyen Anh Duc has arrived, however, he has not been able to have his first win with the team from Thu Dau Mot.

With 26 points after 22 matches (with 1 match left to make up for round 23 with Hanoi Police Club), Binh Duong Club is 6 points ahead of the "red light" group. Coach Nguyen Anh Duc and his team are still not sure of staying in the league.
Binh Duong FC's goal is to stay in the league and finish as high as possible in the V-League. In the National Cup, Binh Duong FC has reached the semi-finals. Nguyen Tien Linh and his teammates will face SLNA, with a match at Vinh Stadium at 6 p.m. on June 26.
According to coach Anh Duc, Binh Duong FC players have physical problems, as many players "cramped and couldn't run" after playing for 60 or 70 minutes. However, the former Binh Duong FC striker said that his students have tried their best to meet the training plan.
In round 24 of V-League, Binh Duong Club will visit Thong Nhat Stadium of Ho Chi Minh City Club (7:15 p.m. on May 23). In the first leg, Binh Duong Club defeated their opponent 3-0 at home.
