Vietnam has 9 restaurants with 1 Michelin star, 2 restaurants awarded Blue Star and 63 culinary addresses honored with Bib Gourmand in 2025.

On the evening of June 6, at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Michelin Guide officially announced the list of dining establishments honored in 2025 in three cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. This is the second consecutive year that Michelin has held an announcement event in Vietnam, marking a major step forward for the country's culinary industry on the global culinary map.

Ms. Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh - General Director of Sun Hospitality Group (a member ofSun Group) emphasized that the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine needs to be facilitated to be widely promoted to the world through prestigious awards such as Michelin.

A total of 181 dining establishments in Vietnam are featured in the Michelin Guide 2025, including 9 restaurants with 1 Michelin star , 2 restaurants awarded the Michelin Green Star , 63 addresses ranked Bib Gourmand - recognizing outstanding quality at reasonable prices, and 109 addresses meeting Michelin Selected standards , including 14 new names.

One of the highlights this year is that Ciel Restaurant (HCMC) was awarded 1 Michelin star for the first time in the Michelin Guide. According to the organizers, Ciel impresses with its innovative culinary style, combining sophisticated processing techniques in a cozy space.

Along with that, Coco Dining restaurant also in Ho Chi Minh City was upgraded to 1 Michelin star , under the leadership of chef Vo Thanh Vuong - who introduced contemporary Vietnamese culinary recipes combined with modern fermentation methods.

In addition to the two names above, Ho Chi Minh City also has many restaurants that continue to be awarded stars such as Anan Saigon, Akuna, Long Trieu , along with La Maison 1888 ( Da Nang ) and Gia, Hibana by Koki, Tam Vi ( Hanoi ).

This year, Lamai Garden restaurant in Hanoi became the first restaurant in the capital to be awarded a Michelin Green Star - a title honoring sustainable and environmentally friendly culinary initiatives.

Led by chef and founder Tran Hieu Trung , Lamai Garden follows a "farm-to-table" model and uses organic ingredients from its own farm in Phu Tho. "We are constantly looking for ways to approach cuisine in a deeper way, focusing on environmental factors and locality," Trung shared.

If last year Da Nang was still quite absent in the high-end categories, this year this coastal city has made significant progress, especially in the Bib Gourmand category with 4 new addresses being recognized , including:

  • Banh Xeo 76 - serves traditional dishes such as banh xeo, cha, vermicelli with grilled meat.
  • Mrs. Thuong's Hue Beef Noodle Soup - over 50 years of satisfying diners with rich flavors.
  • Que Xua - a rustic space, focusing on Quang noodles and pork rice paper.
  • Shamballa - a quiet vegetarian meditation space, with Tibetan style combined with Vietnamese cuisine.

In addition, Da Nang also has 3 new addresses on the Michelin Selected list, including: Bep Cuon , Bun Rieu Cua 39 and Moc .

During the announcement ceremony, Michelin also presented three special awards: Outstanding Young Chef went to Le Viet Hong (Ciel Restaurant, Ho Chi Minh City), born in 1992, who studied at the Ferrandi Culinary School (France) and co-founded The Monkey Gallery. Outstanding Sommelier Award went to Paul Vo from Nephele Restaurant (Ho Chi Minh City), who contributed to the creation of a diverse and unique wine menu.

The Service Award went to Nha Huynh from Man Moi restaurant (Thu Duc), who stood out with her dedicated and friendly service attitude.

Mr. Gwendal Poullennec , International Director of Michelin Guide, commented: "We are very proud to see the increasing number of Vietnamese dining establishments in the Michelin list. Chefs have demonstrated the connection between tradition and innovation, between childhood inspiration and top technique. Vietnam is truly a gem in the journey of discovering global cuisine".
