CAHN Club meets 'rock'
Hanoi Police Club (CAHN Club) aims to defeat the visiting team Ha Tinh to take the fourth place from their opponent, and at the same time put pressure on the top 3. However, the opponent of coach Alexandre Polking and his team is the most difficult team to defeat in the V-League this season. Ha Tinh Club has only lost 1 out of the last 21 matches. Looking at the bigger picture, in the last 26 matches in the V-League, Ha Tinh Club has only suffered 2 defeats.
Ha Tinh FC has proven why this team is such a "tough" opponent. In the match taking place at 7:15 p.m. on May 9 at Hang Day Stadium, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong's students built a solid defensive shield in front of Nguyen Thanh Tung's goal.

Facing the two-layer defense of Ha Tinh, with the defenders dropping deep to cover and mark, and the midfield constantly pressing and creating pressure, CAHN Club had a hard time attacking. The center was blocked, forcing the home team to deploy the ball on the wing. As usual, the left wing with Cao Pendant Quang Vinh and Phan Van Duc was still where CAHN Club put pressure.
In the 4th minute, Hoang Van Toan crossed the ball accurately for Thaileon to jump up and head the ball, but it went right to Thanh Tung's chosen position. In the 22nd minute, it was Van Duc's turn to try his luck with a long-range shot, but the ball went wide of the post. CAHN Club's attacking spearheads were completely isolated, as Ha Tinh Club had prepared carefully for the game, dividing the lines reasonably and rhythmically to intercept the opponent.
The situation that most clearly showed the stalemate of CAHN Club happened in the 43rd minute, when Pham Van Luan held the ball but had no one to coordinate with, so he had to try his luck with a long-range shot in a difficult position. Of course, the shot could not bring a goal.

Not only defending well, Ha Tinh Club also had counterattacks that made the home team "shiver". In the 33rd minute, defender Giap Tuan Duong headed the ball right into the range of Huynh Tien Dat of Ha Tinh. The former U.23 Vietnam player swung his foot with great force, forcing goalkeeper Nguyen Filip to fly as far as he could to block.
Mind game
CAHN Club tried to push up the squad in the second half, but the patchwork lineup with young faces like Pham Minh Phuc, Van Toan or Tuan Duong could not help the home team play more cohesively.
Mr. Polking's students played disjointedly and lacked coordination, with the number of opportunities created in the second half even less than the first half. On the other hand, Ha Tinh's defense with extremely "tough" players like Nguyen Trong Hoang and Adou Minh fought back very well against CAHN Club's attacks.
However, due to the focus on defense, Ha Tinh Club also had very few chances to counterattack. The ball was only passed to Mbo Noel to fight independently among the 3 defenders of CAHN Club, so Ha Tinh's counterattacks in the second half were easier to break.
The deadlocked attack ended the match with a final score of 0-0. Ha Tinh Club and CAHN Club continued to stay in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Five days later, CAHN Club will face Buriram in the first leg of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 final, at 7:30 p.m. on May 14 at Hang Day Stadium.
