Tien Giang: Unanimously propose to recognize 2 advanced new rural communes and 2 model new rural communes

(ABO) On the morning of May 17, the Council for Appraisal and Recognition of Communes Meeting New Rural Standards (NTM), Advanced NTM Communes and Model NTM Communes in the 2022-2025 period in Tien Giang province (referred to as the Appraisal Council) held a meeting to discuss and vote on the proposal to consider recognizing Yen Luong Commune (Go Cong Tay District) as meeting Advanced NTM Standards in 2024 and Thanh Loc Commune (Cai Lay District) as meeting Advanced NTM Standards in 2025; Phu Nhuan Commune and Ngu Hiep Commune (Cai Lay District) as meeting Model NTM Standards in 2025.

The conference was chaired by Comrade Pham Van Trong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Appraisal Council; along with representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and local leaders.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment reported on the results of the dossier appraisal, the results of implementing the criteria of the National Criteria Set on advanced NTM communes and regulations on model NTM communes. In particular, the level of meeting the standards of advanced NTM communes for Yen Luong commune and Thanh Loc commune both met 19/19 criteria for advanced NTM communes; Phu Nhuan commune and Ngu Hiep commune both met 4/4 conditions for recognition of communes meeting model NTM standards.

The appraisal council voted 100% unanimously to propose the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to recognize Yen Luong commune to meet advanced NTM standards in 2024, Thanh Loc commune to meet advanced NTM standards in 2025; Phu Nhuan commune and Ngu Hiep commune to meet model NTM standards in 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Pham Van Trong agreed with the voting results, affirming that the above communes all met the prescribed criteria. At the same time, he requested the communes to coordinate with relevant units to complete the dossier, submit to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a recognition decision and prepare the conditions to organize the announcement ceremony in the coming time.
