Hanoi Police FC staged a comeback victory against HAGL.

Facing Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Hang Day Stadium in the qualifying round of the 2023/2024 National Cup, coach Gong Oh-kyun made several adjustments to the starting lineup of Hanoi Police.

Besides key players like Tan Tai, Tan Sinh, Viet Anh, Geovane, etc., the South Korean strategist also places his trust in young players such as Ha Van Phuong, La Nguyen Bao Trung, and Pham Gia Hung.

The early goal conceded made it difficult for Hanoi Police to implement their game plan, and their defense also lacked concentration at times.

The home team at Hang Day Stadium nearly conceded a second goal after a precise combination between Jhon Cley and Thanh Binh inside the penalty area. However, the striker born in 1998 unfortunately shot the ball wide of the post.

In the 36th minute, following a free kick, Bui Hoang Viet Anh headed the ball from close range, but it rebounded and Ho Ngoc Thang easily tapped it into the net, leveling the score at 1-1.

In the second half, Hanoi Police maintained a proactive approach, constantly pushing forward to threaten the opponent's goal. However, the goalkeeper's save landed perfectly for Jeferson, and the foreign player finished decisively, giving Hanoi Police a 2-1 lead.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai made efforts to coordinate and create a few quick counter-attacking opportunities, but luck was not on the visitors' side.

The 2-1 victory secured Hanoi Police FC a place in the Round of 16 of the 2023-2024 National Cup, where they will face The Cong Viettel .
