TPO - According to the Ministry of Education and Training, up to this point, some provinces and cities still have shortcomings in promoting teachers, including some places that have not organized promotions for decades.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just asked localities to review the promotion of teachers' professional titles.

According to this ministry, since 2015, it has completed the issuance of guiding documents on codes, standards, appointments, and salary classification according to professional titles. At the same time, it has regulated standards, conditions, content, and forms of exams for promotion of professional titles of teachers at all levels according to assigned authority, as a basis for localities to organize implementation.

However, through inspections at localities and educational institutions as well as surveys and information from reporting sources, the Ministry of Education and Training found that there are still some shortcomings in the work of promoting teachers.

The Ministry of Education and Training proposed to review the work of promoting teachers in provinces and cities.

In particular, some provinces according to the old administrative division in the period 2016-2025 have never organized promotions for teachers; some provinces have developed a project to promote teachers in 2024-2025 but have not approved it or have approved it but have not implemented it; some provinces have not organized promotions synchronously between education levels and between administrative units.

To ensure the rights of teachers who have devoted time and met all conditions and standards according to current regulations, the Ministry of Education and Training requests the Provincial People's Committee to direct the implementation of related contents.

Continue to organize the examination and promotion of professional titles of public preschool and primary school teachers in the province according to current legal regulations.

Nationwide, there are approximately 1.6 million teachers and education administrators working in public and non-public schools. Of these, approximately 1.05 million are preschool and primary school teachers whose salaries are paid by the state budget.
