Advisor to the Minister of Interior of Slovakia received Ambassador Pham Truong Giang

Ambassador Pham Truong Giang affirmed that Slovakia is one of Vietnam's traditional friends and partners.

On May 6, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior of Slovakia, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang met and worked with Advisor to the Minister of Interior of Slovakia Ladislav Csémi.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed orientations to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Slovakia on the basis of implementing the Agreement between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Slovakia on cooperation in combating crime signed in March 2017; focusing on cooperation in combating transnational crime, terrorism, high-tech crime, drug crime, financial crime, human trafficking and organized crime.

In addition, the two sides also discussed the possibility of promoting delegation exchanges between partners of the two sides and considering initiating negotiations on mutual legal assistance cooperation agreements.

Thanking the Slovakian Ministry of Interior for its attention and willingness to cooperate, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang affirmed that Slovakia is one of Vietnam's traditional friends and partners; the fact that the Vietnamese community in Slovakia is recognized as an ethnic minority in Slovakia is clear evidence that the Slovakian government and people acknowledge the community's positive contributions to the host society.

Welcoming the proposals from the Vietnamese side, Mr. Ladislav Csémi expressed his readiness to welcome Vietnamese delegations to visit Slovakia, emphasizing that cooperation between the two countries is necessary in the context of countries around the world facing many global security challenges today.

Mr. Ladislav Csémi also said that the contribution of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia is one of the solid foundations to promote the relationship between the two countries to new heights.

Based on the good friendship between Vietnam and Slovakia and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Ambassador and the Minister Advisor agreed to maintain regular communication channels and close coordination to realize cooperation potentials.
