The couple Radhika Merchant (left) and Anant Ambani got married in Mumbai, India on July 12 in the presence of family and many celebrities.
The look of Radhika Merchant - daughter-in-law of Asia's richest billionaire Mukesh Ambani - was posted by stylist Rhea Kapoor. The pharmaceutical heiress wore a gorgeous, elaborate traditional lehenga dress, custom-made by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
Radhika Merchant's costume consists of a long layered skirt, with a detachable second layer, accompanied by a 5-meter long headscarf and a silk shoulder scarf called a dupatta.
Stones and sequins are spread throughout the dress, while the hand-embroidered shawl elevates the outfit.
The second outfit is a Banarasi brocade lehenga, inspired by ancient 19th century weaving, celebrating the elegance and timeless beauty of India.
The waist and back are cut out to make the outfit look elegant.
Groom Anant Ambani (left cover) appeared with his parents. Mrs. Nita Ambani in an elaborate sherwani. The groom's sherwani was embroidered with gold thread, balancing traditional and contemporary styles. He paired it with ivory pants, adding elegance with a gemstone brooch.
The billionaire's daughter-in-law's jewelry includes family heirlooms that her grandmother, mother and sister wore to their weddings, including a stunning necklace studded with sparkling diamonds and large emeralds.
The billionaire family wedding took place at the Jio World Convention Center in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, a venue that can accommodate up to 16,500 people. According to CNN, the red carpet was open to celebrities, politicians , and businessmen, and the dress code was traditional Indian attire.
Guests were given a dress code. On July 12, guests were asked to wear “traditional Indian attire,” according to the Daily Mail. On the second day, they were asked to wear “formal” attire that still maintained the country’s identity. For the reception, attendees were expected to appear in “Indian chic.”
The Guardian estimated the cost of the lavish wedding at more than $600 million, including the festivities that lasted for half a year. If accurate, the huge sum is nothing compared to the Ambani family’s fortune.
Just hiring Justin Bieber to sing at the sangeet cost them $10 million, while Rihanna was paid $7 million for her pre-wedding party in March.
