Dong Thap Provincial Police and Prey Veng Provincial Police Department signed an agreement to ensure security and order along the border in 2025.

DTO - On May 15, 2025, Dong Thap Provincial Police, Vietnam and Prey Veng Provincial Police, Kingdom of Cambodia held a conference on cooperation to ensure security and order along the border in 2025. The conference was attended by Major General Chhay Sokha - Deputy Director of the General Staff Department, General Department of National Police of Cambodia; Colonel Nguyen Van Hieu - former Director of Dong Thap Provincial Police. Co-chairing the conference were Colonel Vo Thi Hoai Ngoc - Deputy Director in charge of Dong Thap Provincial Police and Lieutenant General Chhoeu Bunchhorn - Head of Prey Veng Provincial Police. Also attending the conference were representatives of leaders of units and officers of Dong Thap and Prey Veng Provincial Police.

The police of the two provinces discussed and deeply evaluated the close and effective coordination in exchanging information, the situation and fighting against all kinds of crimes in the border areas in the past time. Over the past year, the police forces at all levels of the two sides maintained a good regime of regular meetings, exchanging information and assessing the situation and results of the implementation of the signed minutes and proposing directions for implementation. The police of Dong Thap province and the police department of Prey Veng province coordinated to protect the safety of the border and border markers, not allowing activities that cause division in the solidarity and friendship between the authorities, armed forces and people of the two provinces; cooperated in preventing and combating criminal, drug, human trafficking and armed robbery crimes; satisfactorily resolved complicated issues between people on both sides of the border, maintained a peaceful and stable border, and created conditions to promote economic and social development in the border areas of the two provinces. To maintain and strengthen foreign relations with the authorities and armed forces of the border areas, Dong Thap Provincial Police and Prey Veng Provincial Police Department regularly organize visits and celebrate holidays and traditional New Year of the two countries.

Colonel Vo Thi Hoai Ngoc - Deputy Director in charge of Dong Thap Provincial Police and Lieutenant General Chhoeu Bunchhorn - Head of Prey Veng Provincial Police signed a memorandum of cooperation.

At the conference, Dong Thap Provincial Police and Prey Veng Provincial Police agreed on 12 coordination contents and signed a coordination plan to ensure security and order in the border area in 2025; consolidate and further cultivate the relationship of "Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability" between Vietnam and Cambodia and the cooperative relationship between Dong Thap Provincial Police and Prey Veng Provincial Police.
