Gia Lai Provincial Police Rescue Two People Trapped in a Deep Well

The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Force of Gia Lai Provincial Police urgently deployed forces to promptly rescue two victims who fell into a 30 meter deep well.

On the afternoon of May 17, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police (PCCC and CNCH) of Gia Lai Provincial Police urgently deployed forces to promptly rescue two victims who fell into a deep well in Phu Dong Ward (Pleiku City).

Accordingly, at around 1:30 p.m. the same day, at house number 6/15 Ly Nam De (group 5, Phu Dong ward), Ms. Nguyen Thi Tra My (born in 1993) discovered Mr. Dang Bao Duy (born in 1985) and Dang Ly Ly (born in 2016) falling into a deep well, so she immediately reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Gia Lai Province mobilized 2 specialized vehicles and 17 officers and soldiers to the scene.

Through the survey, the well was about 30 meters deep, the victims were in a state of panic and physical decline. The rescue team quickly deployed specialized equipment, combined with bringing breathing air down the well to maintain breathing and calm the victims.

After 4 rounds of officers and soldiers taking turns going down the well, at 3:25 p.m., both victims were brought to the surface safely.

After being safely pulled out of the well, both were handed over to medical staff for monitoring and health care.

At 4:00 p.m., all forces and vehicles withdrew from the scene, ending the rescue mission.

Previously, in September 2024, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Force of Gia Lai Provincial Police also coordinated to successfully rescue a man who was swept away by floodwaters and trapped in the middle of the Ayun River for 9 days.

At the time of the rescue, the Ayun River was rising very quickly and flowing strongly, making the rescue operation very difficult. Dak Djrang Commune Police officers used ropes and life jackets to go into the floodwaters, approach the victim and bring him safely to shore.
