(NLĐO) - The Hanoi City Police announced the establishment of a team for examining and issuing driver's licenses for motor vehicles, while the Hanoi Department of Transport has stopped accepting applications for examination, issuance, and renewal of driver's licenses.
On February 28th, the Hanoi City Police held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish a team for examining and issuing driver's licenses for motor vehicles, under the Traffic Police Department.

In accordance with the Party and State's policy of transferring the responsibility for state management of driver's license testing and issuance from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Public Security , the Director of the Hanoi City Police Department issued a Decision on the establishment of a team for testing and issuing road motor vehicle driver's licenses under the Traffic Police Department of the Hanoi City Police.
Accordingly, starting from March 1st, the task of examining and issuing driver's licenses for motor vehicles will be assigned to the Road Motor Vehicle Driver's License Examination and Issuance Team of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police. The team's basic functions and duties include organizing examinations and issuing driver's licenses for automobiles; receiving applications for license renewal and reissuance, and issuing international driver's licenses within the city...
At the conference, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Police, requested that the Motor Vehicle Driving License Examination and Issuance Team operate effectively, with officers and soldiers quickly adapting and immediately beginning to carry out assigned tasks; implementing professional work scientifically and efficiently to ensure that the examination and issuance of driving licenses are carried out continuously, without interruption, and without affecting the normal activities of citizens and businesses. He also emphasized the need to promote the use of information technology applications, digitalization, and administrative procedure reform to create the most favorable conditions for the people.
On the same day, the Hanoi Department of Transport announced a change in the location for receiving and returning results of administrative procedures (the "One-Stop" service center) and the cessation of accepting applications for examination, issuance, and renewal of motor vehicle driver's licenses.
Accordingly, from March 5th, the administrative procedures processing and results delivery department of the Department of Transport (merged with the Department of Construction) will be transferred to the Tay Ho Branch of the Public Administrative Service Center, located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of the inter-agency building at 258 Vo Chi Cong and 657 Lac Long Quan, Xuan La Ward (Tay Ho District). Administrative procedures related to testing and issuing driver's licenses for road motor vehicles will be transferred to the Hanoi City Police for implementation.
Therefore, the administrative procedure processing and results delivery departments of the Department of Transport at locations No. 2 Phung Hung (Ha Dong district) and No. 16 Cao Ba Quat (Ba Dinh district) will continue to receive and process procedures until February 28th.
The administrative procedure processing and results delivery departments at the district level, authorized by the Department to handle the issuance and renewal of driver's licenses (including 13 districts, towns, and cities: Ung Hoa, My Duc, Phu Xuyen, Dong Anh, Son Tay town, Nam Tu Liem, Dan Phuong, Long Bien, Soc Son, Me Linh, Thanh Oai, Quoc Oai, Ba Vi), will receive applications directly until 11:00 AM on February 28th and synchronize data, handing over the files to the Hanoi Department of Transport before 2:00 PM on the same day for transfer to the City Police.
