On the afternoon of April 25, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau held a conference to announce the commendation decisions of the Head of the National Steering Committee 389 and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province in the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Mr. Huynh Vu Phong, Party Secretary, former Director of the Department of Market Management of Ca Mau, awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to collectives with outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2024.

At the conference, 2 groups and 3 individuals received certificates of merit from the Head of the National Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods for their outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2024. At the same time, 7 groups and 19 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2024 in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau, awarded certificates of merit from the Head of the National Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in this work in 2024.

On the same afternoon, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to announce decisions on the organization and personnel of the Market Management Department (QLTT) of Ca Mau province.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien presented the decision to the Deputy Directors of the Ca Mau Market Management Department.

Accordingly, Mr. Huynh Van Khoa, Mr. Pham Van Ut, Mr. Tran Huu Nghi, former Deputy Directors of the Ca Mau Market Management Department, were appointed to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Ca Mau Market Management Department. In which, Mr. Huynh Van Khoa, Deputy Director of the Market Management Department, was assigned to be in charge of the Department.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien presented the decision to assign Mr. Huynh Van Khoa, Deputy Head of the Department, to be in charge of the Ca Mau Market Management Department.

Ca Mau Market Management Department was reorganized from Ca Mau Market Management Department, becoming an administrative unit under the provincial Department of Industry and Trade. At the same time, reorganize departments and professional teams; arrange management areas; dissolve the Inspection - Legal Department, transfer inspection tasks to the Department Inspectorate, legal tasks to the Professional - General Department.

Ca Mau Market Management Department is a legal entity with its own seal and account, implementing budget estimates according to the provisions of law.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau, sent his congratulations to the three comrades who had just been appointed to the position of Deputy Head of the Market Management Department.

Mr. Thien emphasized: The organizational restructuring and personnel appointment this time is an important step to improve the operational efficiency of the Market Management force, especially in the context of complicated developments in smuggling and trade fraud.

Mr. Thien also informed that Mr. Huynh Vu Phong, Party Secretary, former Director of the Ca Mau Market Management Department, will retire from June 2025. Acknowledging and expressing gratitude for Mr. Phong's important contributions during nearly 10 years of work, Mr. Thien affirmed that the stable development of the Market Management force in recent times has a great role to play from the direction of Mr. Huynh Vu Phong.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien requested the provincial Market Management Department to strengthen inspection and control in the area, especially for essential goods such as food, medicine, functional foods... Recently, the trade in fake and poor quality goods, especially functional foods, fake medicines... has caused serious consequences to people's health.

“The acts of profiting from people’s health are extremely cruel. It is a slow killing. You need to be aware and act decisively, raise your sense of responsibility, maintain public ethics, and not let mistakes happen in the performance of your duties,” Mr. Thien emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien requested the leaders of the Department to soon stabilize the organization, build internal solidarity, and closely coordinate between departments and teams to successfully complete tasks in the new situation.
