Announcement of the Decision of the Minister of Construction recognizing the area planned to establish Tieu Can town

Leaders of Tieu Can district received the Decision recognizing the area planned to establish Tieu Can town, Tra Vinh province as meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area from the Minister of Construction.

Attending the event were comrades: Tran Tri Dung, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; Department of Construction; Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Tieu Can District Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairwoman of the District People's Council; Tieu Thanh Tan, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Tieu Can District People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; former leaders of the District Party Committee and People's Committee; experts and scientists; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the district; leaders of the People's Committees of communes and towns; dignitaries representing religious organizations in the district.

In 2020, the expanded Tieu Can town was recognized by the Minister of Construction as meeting the criteria for a type IV urban area according to Decision No. 1298/QD-BXD. In 2021, the Standing Committee of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU on building Tieu Can district to meet the standards for a type IV urban area and become a provincial town in 2025. After 4 years of construction and development, Tieu Can district has been recognized by the Minister of Construction as the area planned to establish Tieu Can town, Tra Vinh province, meeting the criteria for a type IV urban area according to Decision No. 1333/QD-BXD, dated December 31, 2024.

Comrade Pham Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to the collectives.

From 2020 to present, the technical infrastructure system has been invested in and built to meet urban criteria such as: building 03 new traffic routes to meet the criteria of a type IV urban area; project to complete traffic infrastructure to meet the criteria of a type IV urban area; project to prevent river erosion in Tieu Can town; project to connect National Highway 60 - National Highway 54; upgrading and renovating the National Highway 60 bypass; coordinating with the Central and the province to implement the construction of the Dai Ngai Bridge project on National Highway 60 (section in Tieu Can district); the extended District Road 13 project (from the border of District Road 9, Tap Ngai commune to the National Highway 60 bypass, Phu Can commune), with a total cost of over 1,000 billion VND. Since then, a smoothly connected traffic network has been created, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the district.

On this occasion, the Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 02 collectives and 10 individuals "Having outstanding achievements in developing the Project to recognize the area planned to establish Tieu Can town meeting type IV criteria"; The Chairman of Tieu Can District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 24 collectives and 46 individuals with outstanding achievements in developing the Project to recognize the area planned to establish Tieu Can town, Tra Vinh province meeting type IV criteria.
