New Apparel Far Eastern and CPV Food are 2 of 33 grassroots trade unions awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Labor Federation for their outstanding achievements in coordinating with employers to effectively implement the movement "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health" on the occasion of the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2025.

New Apparel Far Eastern Co., Ltd. (Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park) is a 100% Taiwanese-owned enterprise specializing in garment manufacturing. The company currently has 3,500 workers, divided into 72 production lines. Corresponding to the personnel structure, the enterprise's grassroots union established an Occupational Safety and Health Board with 41 members, including managers and production team leaders. Every year, the union proposes that the enterprise owner organize training courses for union officials, occupational safety and health workers, and safety and hygiene workers, equipping them with knowledge and skills to prevent occupational accidents and diseases. Every day, before, during and after working hours, members are responsible for checking safety, promptly detecting and proposing solutions to incidents that pose a risk of unsafety that may lead to occupational accidents. The enterprise owner arranges funding to support the team leader and each member according to the union's proposal.

Labor Safety and Health Committee of New Apparel Far Eastern Company Limited's Trade Union deploys tasks

From the emulation movements for innovation and application of science and technology such as "Good workers, creative workers", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health" launched by the grassroots trade union, Mr. Le Dinh Kien has had 4 initiatives in occupational safety and health at the enterprise, including: Improving protection for fabric shaping machines, ensuring safety for workers when operating the machine; improving safety in operating tunnel dryers, ensuring safety for workers to avoid collisions with sharp objects that are stuck in semi-finished products; improving safety of lectra automatic cutting machines, reducing the risk of collision with adjacent equipment and people when the machine is moving; improving safety of diamond printing machines to help the machine stop automatically in case of an accident.

The initiative "Installing a device to reduce the intensity of laser beams for stamp presses" by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang helps reduce the intensity of laser beams, preventing workers from being dazzled, overcoming the problem of printing stamps skewed; the initiative "Making a water pressure testing kit at fire prevention and fighting hydrants" by Mr. Nguyen Van Duc ensures labor safety, fire prevention and fighting, protecting property and lives of thousands of workers and many other initiatives are recognized by businesses.

The 2025 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month with the theme "Strengthening assessment, identifying hazards and risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace", the main trade union organized a competition to decorate the protective corner, compete for the top 3 areas in compliance with occupational safety and health; reward members of the occupational safety and health committee; visit and give gifts to employees who had occupational accidents...

New Apparel Far Eastern Co., Ltd.'s grassroots union checks sewing machine safety and safe working procedures

According to the Chairwoman of the Company's Trade Union, Nguyen Thi Mai Chi: Business owners are very interested in occupational safety and health work because of the union's persuasion with "Saying it - Doing it", demonstrated through the effectiveness of activities proposed and requested by the union.

Actively participate in building a safe working environment

CPV Food Company Limited (Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Park) with 3,200 workers, laborers, working in 1 food processing factory and 1 animal feed factory. With the motto "Safety for production, production must be safe", the company is equipped with a system of modern, closed and fully automatic factories and machines, creating a professional, safe and friendly working environment.

Participating in the development of the company's occupational safety and health plan, the company's grassroots trade union pays special attention to health check-up policies for employees, labor protection, shift meals, and inspection and supervision work.

Accordingly, twice a year, the union coordinates with the business owner to organize health check-ups for 100% of cadres, union members and employees. The amount spent on health check-ups is 1,088,000 VND/person. In addition, the company also invites a general practitioner to the company to examine and provide health consultation to employees one day/month.

Depending on the job position, workers are equipped with labor protection such as gloves, boots, glasses, masks, and clothing. Thanks to that, since its inception, there have been no cases of workers or laborers having occupational accidents at the workplace.

Workers and laborers at CPV Food Company Limited's food processing factory are equipped with labor protection equipment.

Shift meals are an important content negotiated by the Company's Trade Union and included in the Collective Labor Agreement. The shift meal expense paid by the company is 30,000 VND, double the minimum level stipulated in Resolution 7C/NQ-TLĐ of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The shift meals of employees are supervised by the Trade Union, ensuring the origin of food is inspected for safety, nutritional quality, rich menu, airy, cool, clean dining space, regulations on food sample storage, and no food poisoning occurs.

The activities of the trade union in occupational safety and health help employees feel secure in production and stay with the company for a long time. Therefore, the recommendations and proposals of the trade union to care for and protect employees are always approved by the business owner. Chairman of the company's trade union Nguyen Trong Kien said: "In the month of action on occupational safety and health in 2025, the company's trade union focuses on propaganda activities, disseminating laws on occupational safety and health, raising awareness and responsibility of employers, officials, union members, and employees; coordinating inspection and supervision of shift meals, status of labor protection equipment, fire prevention and fighting...".
