Associate Professor Dr. Luu Duc Hai, Director of the Institute of Urban Research and Infrastructure Development, delivered a speech at the Workshop on the socio-economic development orientation of Lam Dong province for the period 2026-2030 and beyond, held on June 10, 2025.

Mr. Hai proposed a series of specific solutions to help Lam Dong province develop green and circular industries, in line with global sustainable production trends.

Accordingly, the province needs to reorient its industrial development plan. Specifically, Lam Dong province should focus on developing high-tech industries and processing clean agricultural products.

In Dak Nong province, the focus is on exploiting the strengths of green mining and renewable energy. Meanwhile, Binh Thuan province is developing its potential in renewable energy industries and sustainable seafood processing. "Investing in green industrial infrastructure is a key solution. Industrial parks need to implement wastewater treatment systems, utilize on-site renewable energy, design eco-friendly industries, and utilize agricultural by-products as new input materials," Mr. Hai emphasized.

In terms of policy, the province needs to encourage businesses to embrace green transformation through tax incentives, green credit, and financial support for research and development of clean technologies.

In particular, developing circular value chains, reusing agricultural by-products, and connecting businesses within industrial parks to share resources will create sustainable momentum for production.

The province needs to ensure social equity in industrial development: building housing and integrated social infrastructure for workers, creating green industrial cities that combine production, living, landscape, and environment.

Lam Dong province should pilot a circular economy model in three industrial zones: Phu Hoi (Lam Dong) for ecological agriculture; Nhan Co (Dak Nong) for green metallurgy; and Son My I (Binh Thuan) for renewable energy and green logistics.

Mr. Hai affirmed that Lam Dong province has the full potential to become a model for green industry if it has the right development strategy and effective implementation. "Lam Dong is not only a center for high-tech agriculture but can also rise to become a model green economic region, making a positive contribution to the national green growth strategy," Mr. Hai asserted.
