Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Duc Hai, Director of the Institute for Urban Research and Infrastructure Development, spoke at the Workshop on socio-economic development orientation of Lam Dong province in the period of 2026 - 2030 and the following years held on June 10, 2025.

Mr. Hai proposed a series of specific solutions to help Lam Dong province develop green and circular industry, in line with the global trend of sustainable production.

Accordingly, the province needs to reorient its industrial development planning. Specifically, Lam Dong province focuses on developing high-tech industry and processing clean agricultural products.

In Dak Nong, the strengths of green mining and renewable energy are exploited. Meanwhile, Binh Thuan promotes the potential of renewable energy industry and sustainable seafood processing. "Investing in green industrial infrastructure is the key solution. Industrial parks need to implement circular wastewater treatment, use on-site renewable energy, design ecological industries, and utilize agricultural by-products as new input materials," Mr. Hai emphasized.

In terms of policy, the province needs to encourage businesses to go green through tax incentives, green credits, and financial support for clean technology research and development.

In particular, developing a circular value chain, reusing agricultural by-products, and connecting businesses in industrial parks to share resources will create sustainable momentum for production.

The province needs to ensure social equity in industrial development: building housing and synchronous social infrastructure for workers, forming green industrial cities, combining production, life, landscape and environment.

Lam Dong should pilot the circular model in 3 industrial parks including: Phu Hoi (Lam Dong) for ecological agriculture; Nhan Co (Dak Nong) for green metallurgy; Son My I (Binh Thuan) for renewable energy and green logistics.

Bauxite is being exploited and processed in Lam Dong and Dak Nong, bringing great economic and social values.

"Lam Dong is not only a center of high-tech agriculture but can also become a model green economic region, actively contributing to the national green growth strategy," Mr. Hai affirmed.
