Cong Phuong absent, Quang Vinh joins Vietnam national team

Cong Phuong has not been able to return to training with the Vietnamese team, while new player Cao Quang Vinh has shown very quick adaptation.

On the afternoon of June 1, the Vietnamese team entered the next training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, during the FIFA Days gathering in June, preparing for the match against Malaysia, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

At this training session, players from CAHN and Binh Duong were present.

Including goalkeeper Nguyen Filip, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai, Vo Hoang Minh Khoa, striker Nguyen Tien Linh and especially rookie Cao Pendant Quang Vinh.

Cao Pendant Quang Vinh said he can adapt to the Vietnam team in just 10 days.

Cao Pendant Quang Vinh has a French father and a Vietnamese mother. He joined CAHN Club in August 2024 and was granted Vietnamese citizenship in March 2025.

The afternoon practice session on June 1 continued without the presence of Cong Phuong, Duc Chien and goalkeeper Dinh Trieu.

Cong Phuong has a sore foot, while the other two players show signs of overload and need to rest.

Coach Kim Sang Sik has strengthened his tactics, aiming for the match that is predicted to be difficult against Malaysia at the "fire pit" of Bukit Jalil.

The Vietnamese team is determined to achieve positive results despite suffering some losses in personnel.
