Toan Thang multi-level marketing company has ceased operations.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Toan Thang Franchise Co., Ltd. has requested the release of its deposit money, citing the revocation of its multi-level marketing registration certificate.

The National Competition Commission ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) has just announced the termination of multi-level marketing activities and requested the withdrawal of the deposit from Toan Thang Franchise Co., Ltd.

The business ceased operations because the multi-level marketing registration certificate had expired, and a notification of termination was submitted to the Competition and Consumer Protection Department (now the National Competition Commission) on August 28, 2020.

In its latest announcement, the regulatory agency stated that the company had requested the release of its bank deposit funds, citing the expiration of its multi-level marketing business registration certificate.

Within 30 days, participants in multi-level marketing and competent authorities responsible for handling violations in multi-level marketing activities are responsible for notifying the Ministry of Industry and Trade about multi-level marketing businesses that have not fulfilled their responsibilities regarding the management of multi-level marketing business activities.

"If no notification is sent to the Ministry of Industry and Trade within the aforementioned period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will issue a document approving the multi-level marketing company to withdraw its deposit," the authorities stated.

The deposit is a sum of money that guarantees the fulfillment of obligations by multi-level marketing businesses to participants and the State in specified cases. This deposit is frozen by the bank throughout the business's operation and can only be withdrawn or used with written approval from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, except in certain cases.

Toan Thang Franchise Co., Ltd., headquartered in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, was granted a Certificate of Registration for Multi-Level Marketing Activities on July 27, 2015; amended and supplemented for the eighth time on March 14, 2019.

According to statistics, in 2024, the total number of people participating in multi-level marketing reached nearly 700,000, a decrease of about 400,000 compared to 2019. Despite the decrease in the number of participants, the total revenue of multi-level marketing businesses continued to increase.

In 2024, multi-level marketing (MLM) sales revenue reached VND 16,206 billion, an increase of 28.9% compared to 2019 (VND 12,575 billion). The average commission and bonus was approximately VND 951,000 per month, equivalent to 12% of the average per capita income nationwide in 2024. To date, only 16 businesses nationwide have registered certificates to operate multi-level marketing (a decrease of 4 businesses compared to the beginning of 2024).
