Nam Irrigation Company Limited ensures irrigation for more than 33,000 hectares of rice

The conference was chaired by Mr. Bui Van Hao - Chairman and Director of the Company, with the participation of representatives of affiliated Irrigation Enterprises and Mr. Nguyen Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Nam Nghe An Irrigation Company Limited is responsible for managing and operating irrigation works serving irrigation, drainage and water supply for Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen districts and Vinh City, with a total service area of up to more than 61,238 hectares/year.

In addition, the company also undertakes the task of natural disaster prevention and is the investor in projects for maintenance, repair, renovation, upgrading and construction of new irrigation works in the system, in order to improve the efficiency of irrigation and water supply. Currently, the company has 464 officers, employees and workers, 100% of whom have stable jobs.

The 2025 Spring crop took place in difficult weather conditions, however, the company made efforts to ensure irrigation water supply for more than 33,000 hectares of agricultural land. The management and exploitation of the irrigation system was carried out effectively, especially the operation of 43 water pumping stations at reservoirs according to scientific methods. Thanks to that, the efficiency of water supply was improved, promptly meeting production needs and receiving recognition and high appreciation from water users as well as people.

Currently, the company is investing in projects to upgrade and renovate pumping stations, dams, and complete the sewer system in the Nam Dan area. These projects are being actively implemented, ensuring that they meet the requirements of quantity, quality, and progress.

At the Conference, Nam Irrigation Company Limited deployed preparations for production for the summer-autumn crop and the 2025 season, and proposed measures to prevent natural disasters in 2025.

It is forecasted that from now until the end of 2025, the company will face many difficulties due to complicated weather conditions, with the risk of drought and unpredictable storms and floods. The works in the system are currently damaged and degraded, requiring timely maintenance and repair.

Mr. Bui Van Hao, Chairman and Director of the Company, said: To cope with this situation, from the beginning of the season, the company has well organized the work of dredging canals, maintaining and repairing irrigation works, and maintaining machinery and equipment to ensure that the production process is not interrupted. The company pays special attention to operating the works according to the process, ensuring savings and efficiency.

The company conducts regular inspections to detect early incidents and minor damages and make timely repairs, so as not to affect the production process. In addition, the company conducts water quality checks before, during and after pumping, and promptly advises and informs localities about water quality, ensuring economical and efficient water use.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment acknowledged and highly appreciated the Company's efforts in recent times.

To improve operational efficiency in the upcoming production season, he suggested that the Company focus on implementing a number of key tasks such as: reviewing, maintaining and promptly repairing damaged works to ensure good service for irrigation; closely coordinating with localities to operate water resources effectively; and applying digital technology in the management and operation of irrigation systems, contributing to improving service quality and ensuring the security of irrigation water sources.

With its outstanding achievements in 2024, the company was honored to receive the Emulation Flag "Unit that excellently completed its tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2024" from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman. At the same time, 4 enterprise collectives, 4 specialized departments and 3 key construction management stations of the company were also classified as "Excellently completed its tasks".
