The above content is part of the project "Sending Vietnamese citizens to study in the Russian Federation, China, Eastern European countries and former Soviet Union countries in the period 2026-2035" approved by the Government yesterday. The goal of the project is to train high-quality human resources, prioritizing fields in which these countries have strengths.
Over the next five years, it is projected that approximately 1,500 candidates will be sent to study abroad each year under scholarship agreements (agreements signed between Vietnam and other countries) and non-agreement programs. Of these, 1,000 will study in Russia, and 500 in other countries.
The workforce sent for training covers all fields that Vietnam needs. Priority sectors include: defense, security, high technology, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, quantum computing, blockchain, energy technology, advanced materials, rare earth technology, ocean and subsurface technology, aerospace technology, semiconductor industry, energy, nuclear technology, railways, biotechnology, medicine and pharmacy, and law.
Scholarships at both levels of study are also available to candidates nominated by ministries, departments, localities, and state-owned enterprises. The application period begins in 2026.
