The V.League relegation race is dramatic until the final round

After round 25 of V.League 2024/25, Nam Dinh won the championship one round early. SLNA and TP.HCM officially won the right to stay in the tournament.

The relegation race is now only a competition between Quang Nam, Da Nang and Binh Dinh. With such a close score gap, any scenario can still happen in the final round.

Currently, Quang Nam is ranked 12th with 25 points, 3 points more than Da Nang and 4 points more than Binh Dinh. In theory, this is a safe position. However, coach Van Sy Son's team cannot stay in the league due to the disadvantageous head-to-head factor.

In the first leg, Quang Nam defeated Da Nang 3-2 at home. But in the second leg, they lost 0-1.

According to the rules of head-to-head results, the two teams are tied after two matches. However, Da Nang has the advantage of scoring more goals away from home (1 goal compared to 0). This makes Quang Nam not safe.

However, Quang Nam's chances of staying in the league are still very open. They will definitely stay in the V.League if they do not lose to HAGL in the final round. In case of losing, coach Van Sy Son and his team will still stay in the league if Da Nang does not win against SLNA. If they lose to HAGL and are surpassed by Da Nang, Quang Nam will fall to 13th place and have to play a play-off with the runner-up of the First Division.

With 22 points, Da Nang still has a chance to stay in the league. However, the conditions for them to do so are not easy.

The Han River team must beat SLNA at home and wait for Quang Nam to lose to HAGL in the final match. If they only get a draw or a loss, Da Nang will need to consider the option of competing for a play-off ticket.

In this case, if they have the same or higher score than Binh Dinh, Da Nang will be ranked higher thanks to winning the direct confrontation in both matches (3-1 and 2-0).

Binh Dinh is currently the weakest name in the race. With 21 points, the team from the land of Nau must defeat Hanoi in the final match, and wait for Da Nang to not be able to beat SLNA. Only when these two conditions occur, Binh Dinh can rise to 13th place to play in the play-off.

If they don't win, or Da Nang gets 3 points, Binh Dinh will be officially relegated after 4 consecutive seasons in the V.League.
