By the end of 2024, Ganh Hao bridge worth more than 650 billion connecting Bac Lieu and Ca Mau will be completed.

On February 26, according to information from the Ca Mau Province Traffic Construction Project Management Board (investor), the current progress of the bridge construction project across the Ganh Hao River has reached 35% of the volume, basically ensuring progress. It is expected that the project will be technically open to traffic in December 2024.

Workers urgently construct Ganh Hao bridge connecting Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces.

Specifically, the contractor is implementing 7/7 packages. The road section has basically completed the roadbed excavation, piling of cajuput piles, leveling of the roadbed with sand and laying of cross-road culverts.

Regarding the bridge: Vam Muong bridge is implementing concrete for 1/2 of the bridge abutment and 2/6 bridge piers; the remaining abutments and piers are implementing pile driving.

For Ganh Hao bridge, on the Ca Mau side, bored pile construction is underway from pier M1 to pier T5; the bored pile system has been completed for the mid-river span, and concrete construction of the pedestal and pier body is underway. On the Bac Lieu side, concrete construction of the pedestal and pier body is underway from pier T11 to pier M2.

Regarding the project to build a bridge across Ganh Hao River, recently, Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, inspected the progress of this key project.

Here, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province encouraged the construction workers. At the same time, he requested the investor and supervision consultant to regularly urge the construction unit to ensure the project progress, trying to complete the construction items by the end of 2024.

The completion and use of Ganh Hao Bridge will create momentum to promote socio -economic development in the two provinces of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

The Ganh Hao bridge construction project is component 3 of the Ong Doc river bridge project, the East-West axis and Ganh Hao bridge.

The location of the Ganh Hao bridge construction project has its starting point intersecting with the East-West axis road (at Km 39+550 and the coastal road of Ca Mau province, about 300m from Rach Coc bridge towards Ganh Hao town, Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu). The end point of the bridge project connecting to the existing road is 1/3 road according to the general planning of Ganh Hao town, Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province.

Ganh Hao Bridge belongs to group B, has a design load of HL93, is 12m wide (vehicle section is 11m), and has a total cost of over 650 billion VND.

The investment in building a bridge across the Ganh Hao River aims to gradually complete the traffic infrastructure system according to the approved planning of the two provinces of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

At the same time, it serves the needs of traffic and creates favorable conditions for trade, production development, exchange, and purchase and sale of goods for people in Dam Doi district (Ca Mau) and Dong Hai district (Bac Lieu) in particular and the region in general.

In particular, it creates a road axis connecting Song Doc estuary, Ca Mau province with Ganh Hao estuary, Bac Lieu province, shortening travel time, transporting passengers and goods, meeting the increasing transportation demand; contributing to attracting investment, creating momentum to promote socio-economic development of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces.
