On May 27, the Minister of Education and Training (MOET) issued a decision to recognize Associate Professor Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Deputy Director of the National Economics University, as Director for the 2021-2026 term, starting from August 1, replacing Professor Pham Hong Chuong who has reached retirement age.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong was born in 1973. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the National Economics University in 1994.

In 1997, he received a Master's degree in Business Administration from Boise State University, Idaho, USA; then received a PhD in Economics from the National Economics University in 2007. He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2011.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong has held many positions at the National Economics University such as: Lecturer; Chief of Office/Director of the Institute of Advanced and High-Quality Training; Deputy Director of the National Economics University.
From August 2025, the Board of Directors of the National Economics University will have Director Bui Huy Nhuong and Deputy Director Nguyen Thanh Hieu. The Chairman of the Board is Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Duc Tho.
The National Economics University currently has about 25,000 full-time students and more than 1,200 staff and lecturers. The number of undergraduate training majors is 60, and 28 doctoral training majors. In the development strategy for the period 2021-2030, the school aims to be among the top 5 universities in Vietnam.
