In recent years, the tourism development space in the district has been mainly concentrated in Binh Thanh Tourist Area. Tourism products are identified as religious tourism, visiting historical and cultural relics, garden tourism, resort tourism, beach tourism and sea sports activities. In addition, other tourist destinations also attract many visitors such as Vinh Tan Tourist Area, Hon Cau. In particular, tourism products and types meet the spiritual needs of many visitors through folk festivals that are maintained and organized regularly every year.
During the period of 2016 - 2020, the district had more than 3 million visitors (including about 3,199 foreign visitors). The tourism infrastructure system has been gradually consolidated and developed, the infrastructure at Binh Thanh Tourist Area has invested in a number of construction items. The Hoa Thang - Phan Ri Cua route has been completed, creating a coastal route connecting Mui Ne to Binh Thanh Tourist Area. Since the beginning of the year, the number of visitors to the district for sightseeing and relaxation is 671,442, of which the number of visitors staying at Binh Thanh Tourist Area is more than 139,000; the number of visitors to Hon Cau Island is 5,937; The number of passengers on the Ta Nang - Phan Dung route was 4,643, compared to the target of 44.76%, a sharp increase over the same period in 2021 of more than 52%.
In addition, the district has maintained traditional festivals and beliefs: Hung King's death anniversary on the 10th of the 3rd lunar month, Cau Ngu festival of Van Lach festival, Cat Bay relic memorial ceremony, Lac Tri village tower festival, Full moon festival, Don ca tai tu competition... In addition, it also regularly organizes sports such as: District-level boat racing, beach volleyball, Binh Thanh sand dune crossing competition, spring cycling competition... The types of services and tourism have developed diversely, the quality of service in a positive, civilized and modern direction has left a good impression in the hearts of tourists.
In the coming time, the district will continue to develop a variety of tourism types and products with rich and attractive activities to attract tourists. Focus on improving the quality and effectively exploiting traditional festivals and beliefs with specific characteristics of the district. Restore and embellish cultural and historical relics in the district that have been recognized by superiors to exploit tourism and serve tourists. Create conditions for strong development of weekend resort tourism, fishing, diving; exploit marine sports tourism in Binh Thanh and Vinh Tan.
At the same time, it will orient the development of religious tourism (Minh Dao Tu) in the Hoa Thang - Phan Ri Cua coastal planning area. Build and develop typical coastal culinary products, aiming to form and develop culinary tourism. Promote cultural activities and sea sports in tourist areas.
