Da Nang adjusts to 16 administrative units at commune, ward and special zone levels

Specifically, Hai Chau ward was established on the basis of merging 5 wards: Thanh Binh, Thuan Phuoc, Thach Thang, Hai Chau, Phuoc Ninh; Hoa Cuong ward was established on the basis of merging 4 wards: Binh Thuan , Hoa Thuan Tay, Hoa Cuong Bac, Hoa Cuong Nam.

Establish Thanh Khe ward on the basis of merging 5 wards: Xuan Ha, Chinh Gian, Thac Gian, Thanh Khe Dong, Thanh Khe Tay; Establish An Khe ward on the basis of merging 3 wards: An Khe, Hoa An, Hoa Phat ; Establish An Hai ward on the basis of merging 3 wards: Phuoc My, An Hai Bac, An Hai Nam.

Da Nang city will have 3 communes, 12 wards and 1 special zone.

Establish Son Tra ward on the basis of merging 3 wards: Tho Quang, Nai Hien Dong, Man Thai; Establish Ngu Hanh Son ward on the basis of merging 4 wards: My An, Khue My, Hoa Hai, Hoa Quy; Establish Hoa Khanh ward on the basis of merging 2 wards: Hoa Khanh Nam, Hoa Minh and Hoa Son commune.

Establish Lien Chieu ward on the basis of merging the 2 wards of Hoa Khanh Bac and Hoa Lien commune (after adjusting administrative boundaries, merging part of Hoa Lien commune into Hoa Bac commune); Establish Hai Van ward on the basis of merging the 2 wards of Hoa Hiep Bac, Hoa Hiep Nam and Hoa Bac commune; Establish Cam Le ward on the basis of merging the 3 wards of Hoa Tho Tay, Hoa Tho Dong, Khue Trung.

Establish Hoa Xuan ward on the basis of merging the current Hoa Xuan ward and 2 communes: Hoa Phuoc, Hoa Chau; Establish Hoa Vang commune on the basis of merging the current 2 communes: Hoa Phong, Hoa Phu; Establish Hoa Tien commune on the basis of merging the current 2 communes: Hoa Tien, Hoa Khuong; Establish Ba Na commune on the basis of merging the current 2 communes: Hoa Ninh, Hoa Nhon.

Formation of Hoang Sa special zone (administrative unit equivalent to commune level) on the basis of the current status of Hoang Sa island district.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, on April 22, Da Nang City had a plan to rearrange the commune-level administrative units to 19 communes, wards and Hoang Sa special zone. However, to ensure the commune-level administrative units as required, on the morning of April 23, the Da Nang City Party Committee met and agreed to adjust the number to 16 commune-level administrative units.
