Da Nang is the world's second destination for 'digital nomads'

DNO - Outlook Traveller magazine said that three Vietnamese cities have made it onto the list of the world's fastest-growing "digital nomad" destinations. After Tokyo (Japan), Da Nang (Vietnam) ranked second.

“Digital nomadism” is a term that refers to the trend of working remotely combined with traveling. The assessment results are based on data of the world's fastest-growing remote work destinations based on an analysis of about 300,000 registrations in the database over the past two years.

According to the list, Tokyo (Japan) topped the rankings, with Tokyo seeing a staggering increase in the number of remote workers by 2022 (369%).

Da Nang is considered the top place to live in Vietnam with free wi-fi service in the city center with fast internet speed, beautiful scenery and fresh air.

The monthly living expenses for a remote worker in the coastal city of Da Nang are about 942 USD (about 23 million VND).

Da Nang has witnessed, recorded a significant growth of 99% in the past 5 years and an impressive growth of 107% by 2023 for "digital nomads".

In addition to Da Nang, two Vietnamese cities also made the list and were both in the Top 10, with Hanoi in 8th place, followed by Ho Chi Minh City.

Hanoi recorded a growth rate of 58% and Ho Chi Minh City 55%.

The list took into account factors such as the prevalence of wi-fi in public places, ease of obtaining visas, political climate, public safety and several other factors.
