At the conference, delegates were provided with information on the impacts of increasingly extreme and unpredictable climate change; solutions for natural disaster prevention and adaptation to climate change; operating procedures for hydropower plants on the Vu Gia River and the operating procedures for the Vu Gia - Thu Bon reservoir network issued by the Prime Minister ; recommendations and response skills when storms and floods occur; how to use the flood warning system via Zalo and safety measures when hydropower plants regulate reservoir water levels.

Previously, hydropower companies coordinated with local authorities to organize communication campaigns on natural disaster prevention in the communes of Thuong Duc, Vu Gia, Phu Thuan, etc.
The activity contributes to enhancing coordination between the community and hydropower operators, ensuring safety for downstream areas, helping people proactively respond and minimize damage caused by storms and floods.
According to forecasts, from now until the end of 2025, Da Nang may be affected by 4-6 storms, tropical depressions and many extreme weather patterns. In particular, Dai Loc and Ha Nha are two key localities in terms of flooding, directly affected by the operations of 9 hydropower plants across the basin.
