On the afternoon of July 25, the Phu Quy Special Zone Party Committee ( Lam Dong Province) held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 term. This is also the first special zone in the country to hold a Party Congress.
In the 2020-2025 term, Phu Quy special zone basically achieved and exceeded targets in all areas; in which, annually, budget revenue exceeded about 120% and attracted more than 462,000 tourists, tourism service revenue exceeded 210 billion VND. Annually, the local budget revenue was more than 48 billion VND, exceeding the target assigned by the province and budget expenditure reached 124% of the estimate. Total investment capital from the State budget was more than 344 billion VND; non-budget capital was about 632 billion VND, mainly in the fields of high-speed train development, restaurants, hotels, and rural transportation.
In the 2025-2030 term, Phu Quy will focus on developing two economic pillars: promoting the development of the marine economy in a "green", strong, and sustainable direction; strengthening solutions to protect aquatic resources , and preserving and restoring marine ecosystems.
In addition, the special zone continues to effectively implement the Phu Quy Tourism Development Project; mobilize and coordinate to host events and sports competitions at national and provincial levels to attract tourists.
Lam Dong: Potential and development opportunities
In addition, the special zone develops various types of resort tourism, health care, entertainment, and sea sports; and renovates and upgrades tourist attractions.
In addition, Phu Quy innovates its growth model from a traditional economy to a green economic and digital economic development model with a suitable roadmap. At the same time, the locality promotes comprehensive digital transformation on: Digital government, digital economy and digital society; gradually building a smart Phu Quy with high autonomy and connectivity.
Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, said that in the next 5 years, the province will continue to invest in developing the socio-economic infrastructure system. Phu Quy will continue to effectively exploit the potentials and advantages of the special zone, build and develop comprehensively in the strategy of economic development, field protection, green development, and national defense.
In addition, the locality builds a strong special economic zone, closely combining economic development with national defense, national defense with economy, as a solid rear base for the Truong Sa archipelago; has developed marine economic sectors, especially exploitation, seafood processing, trade and logistics services for fisheries in the southeast of the country and towards the Southeast Asia region; develops maritime transport services, associated with environmental protection and sustainable tourism. Building each ship unit as a watch point to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the country.
