The Trung Sisters' Uprising has an extremely great significance, leaving our nation a priceless spiritual heritage. That is the truth that President Ho Chi Minh concluded: When a nation is united, stands up and resolutely fights to regain freedom and independence for its Fatherland, no force can win. That is also the lesson of "the people are the root", promoting the strength of great national unity, the bravery, intelligence, and spirit of mastery of the people throughout the history of building and defending the country of our nation.
Proud to be descendants of Hai Ba Trung, Vietnamese women from generation to generation have always upheld the spirit of patriotism, indomitable will, and made great contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland. Over the years, under the leadership of the Party and the efforts of the entire population, including women, Vietnam has achieved many important achievements in promoting gender equality and empowering women. In 2023, Vietnam's gender equality ranking was ranked 72/146 countries (up 11 places compared to 2022). The role, position and contributions of women in all areas of social life are increasingly enhanced.
Promoting the thousand-year-old historical tradition of culture and heroism, in recent years, the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi in general and Me Linh district in particular have united and strived to achieve many outstanding and comprehensive achievements in all fields. According to Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, the solemn organization of the 1,985th anniversary of the Trung Sisters' Uprising is an opportunity for us to review the glorious tradition of the nation, express our deep gratitude to the Trung Sisters and our predecessors; at the same time, strongly arouse the spirit of patriotism, self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and national pride; promote the will and strength of great national unity combined with the strength of the times to bring our country firmly into a new era, an era of strong, prosperous development; strive to successfully achieve the goals: 100 years under the leadership of the Party, a developing country with modern industry, high average income; 100 years of the country's founding, becoming a developed country, high income.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that, along with the successful implementation of very important tasks in 2025, Party committees and authorities at all levels of Hanoi city continue to pay attention to preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of historical, cultural and revolutionary relics, tangible and intangible cultural heritages of the nation, including the Hai Ba Trung Temple Special National Historical Relic and the Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival, becoming an important driving force and resource, contributing to the socio-economic development of the capital.
Hanoi City builds Me Linh district to develop rapidly and comprehensively, becoming a green, modern urban area, worthy of being the northern gateway area of the capital connecting with the trans-Asian corridor, and one of the service centers, high-tech industry, ecological agriculture, and international connections of Hanoi City.
At the same time, build the Capital by 2030 into a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" city, where cultural quintessence converges, deeply integrates internationally, and has a level of development on par with the capitals of developed countries in the region; by 2050, it will be a global, green - smart - peaceful - prosperous city; with a leading level of development in the region, on par with the capitals of developed countries in the world.
