The Congress of the Trade Union of the Industry and Trade Newspaper for the 2025-2030 term was successful, opening a new development phase.

On the morning of November 26, in Hanoi, the Trade Union of Industry and Trade Newspaper held its 5th Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term. Attending and directing the congress were comrade Le An Hai, member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade; also attending were leaders of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade; comrade Nguyen Van Minh, member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, member of the Trade Union of Industry and Trade Newspaper, along with invited delegates and official delegates of the congress.

Building a team of brave, professional and creative people

The 5th Congress of the Industry and Trade Newspaper Trade Union for the 2025 - 2030 term took place at a time when the country was fundamentally changing its organizational model in the new era. The Congress was also an important political activity for union members and workers of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, with the motto: Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development.

The 5th Congress of the Trade Union of the Industry and Trade Newspaper was held to summarize and evaluate trade union activities and movements associated with officials and workers for the 2023-2028 term, at the same time draw lessons, set goals, directions and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, and continue to build the Trade Union of the Industry and Trade Newspaper increasingly stronger.

During the period of 2023 - 2028, the activities of the Industry and Trade Newspaper's Trade Union always receive close and timely attention and direction from the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union; the Party Committee, the editorial board's leadership; the regular coordination of mass organizations, especially the solidarity of the collective Leadership, officers and employees, helping the Trade Union operate in a disciplined, quality and effective manner.

During the term, the activities of the Industry and Trade Newspaper have made great strides in terms of organizational structure, content and economy . The apparatus and organizational structure of the Industry and Trade Newspaper have been improved according to the Project to renovate the Industry and Trade Newspaper for the period 2023 - 2025 and the new regulations on functions and tasks to meet the model of a converged, multimedia editorial office; propaganda work is guaranteed with rich and diverse content, without political errors.

The Electronic Industry and Trade Newspaper achieved a record growth in viewership and international ranking with 45 million views/month and ranked 54th among the top electronic newspapers and news websites in Vietnam, up more than 600 places; won 16 press awards of all kinds; YouTube channel received a silver button, Facebook received a blue tick with millions of followers.

The Industry and Trade Newspaper has strongly transformed digitally, and was ranked 18th out of the first 67 central press agencies assessed by the Ministry of Information and Communications (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to have completed the digital transformation maturity standards, with a good ranking.

Speaking at the congress, Editor-in-Chief of the Industry and Trade Newspaper Nguyen Van Minh emphasized that the Executive Committee of the Newspaper's Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term, despite facing many objective and subjective difficulties, has strived to overcome difficulties and successfully completed assigned tasks.

“ The 2025-2030 term places higher demands on the Industry and Trade Newspaper. The trend of multi-platform media, new journalism economic models, pressure to retain high-quality staff, as well as competitive challenges in the field of journalism and communications require each cadre, reporter, editor, and worker to change dramatically and proactively adapt, ” Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Minh pointed out.

To achieve the goals set out in the Resolution of the Party Committee of the Newspaper, and overcome the shortcomings and limitations of the past, the Editor-in-Chief proposed that the Trade Union of the Industry and Trade Newspaper in the new term focus on 5 key contents including: Continuing to promote the representative role, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members; accompanying the profession in the process of innovation and digital transformation of the agency; promoting patriotic emulation movements associated with assigned tasks; paying attention to building a team of union members with political courage, high professional capacity, and clean professional ethics; building a truly strong, flexible and creative union organization.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Minh also requested each member of the Trade Union of the Industry and Trade Newspaper to uphold the spirit of responsibility, sense of organization and discipline; proactively cultivate knowledge, improve expertise; enthusiastically respond to emulation movements; and maintain the image of the staff and reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper: Dynamic, creative, brave, united and dedicated to work.

“ The new term opens up many opportunities but also poses many challenges. I request all Trade Union members of the Industry and Trade Newspaper to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity; strive to innovate and be creative; proactively adapt to new requirements; contribute to building an increasingly strong and comprehensive Trade Union organization, contributing to the development of the Industry and Trade Newspaper in the new period ”, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Minh emphasized.

Affirming results, expanding development space

Attending and directing the congress, comrade Le An Hai, member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, highly appreciated the results that the Industry and Trade Newspaper Union achieved in the 2023-2025 term.

“ These results were achieved thanks to the attention of the Party Committee, Editorial Board, leaders of the Industry and Trade Newspaper and directly the Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Minh, ” emphasized comrade Le An Hai.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade, entering the 2025 - 2030 term, this will be a very special period for the country. We are moving to a new development phase, synchronous in both quantity and quality.

“ By the end of October 2025, most of the Industry and Trade sector’s targets such as import-export, industry and trade have met and exceeded expectations. With a trade scale of about 900 billion USD, this is a great driving force. In that context, I am confident that the Industry and Trade Newspaper will have more opportunities and more room for development ,” said comrade Le An Hai.

Comrade Le An Hai said that the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade in this term identified 6 major focuses, including areas directly related to press activities:

First, digital transformation, energy transformation and performing the tasks of the Industry and Trade sector in the spirit of the resolutions.

Second, build a database on trade union organizations and union members across the industry.

Third , building harmonious and substantive labor relations between employers and employees.

Fourth, training, retraining and skill conversion for workers in the context of automation and digital transformation.

Besides, comrade Le An Hai requested that the Trade Union of Industry and Trade Newspaper continue to promote its responsibility, proactively propose tasks and closely coordinate with the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade.

“ I believe that with the results of the past term, along with the spirit of innovation and orientation stated in the report, the Congress will be able to build a new term's direction and tasks that are close to reality, and at the same time select qualified and qualified personnel to participate in the Executive Committee of the Industry and Trade Newspaper Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, successfully completing the assigned tasks ,” emphasized comrade Le An Hai.

Also at the event, representatives of trade union groups gave speeches before the congress. Comrade Nguyen Hong Quang, Chief Representative of the Newspaper Office in the South, presented a speech with the topic "The Southern Office is the 'extended arm' of the Industry and Trade Newspaper in the Southern region".

According to comrade Nguyen Hong Quang, during the past term, the Southern Office Trade Union has achieved many outstanding results, promptly visited union members when they were sick or had family funerals, organized internal bonding activities, birthdays, and volunteering; accompanied the profession by encouraging frontline reporters, supported working conditions and encouraged professional improvement; built a civilized working environment, with a spirit of sharing, solidarity and responsibility.

In the coming time, the Union will continue to strengthen practical care for union members, launch emulation movements associated with political tasks, build a united, disciplined, professional collective, and organize spiritual and cultural activities and mental health support groups.

Meanwhile, comrade Hoang Van Nhuong, Deputy Head of the Reporter Department , presented a paper on the topic "Creative competition in the content block: Motivation to improve workers' welfare".

Accordingly, the representative of the Reporters' Department proposed a number of contents such as: Firstly , launching emulation campaigns in each key area of the Industry and Trade Newspaper such as economy and integration, industry and energy, policy criticism, business innovation and especially the topic of Party building in the context of integration.

Second , maintain the quarterly Internal Press Awards with specific themes at each time, encourage reporters and editors to propose initiatives, exploit new topics and vividly reflect socio-economic life.

Third, coordinate to build a mechanism to encourage creativity, promptly honor individuals and groups with quality works, and ensure that rewards are associated with propaganda effectiveness and spread.

Also at the congress, comrade Nguyen Si Cuong, Director of the Center for Multimedia and Digital Content of Industry and Trade, said that during the 2023 - 2028 term, the Industry and Trade Newspaper has gone through a challenging period but also brilliant in achievements. The editorial office has transformed itself according to the convergence - multimedia model, the apparatus has been improved, the tasks have increased, the quality standards are higher, and the information processing speed is faster. These changes not only affect the production process but also directly affect each union member and worker.

“ In all of this strong transformation, the Trade Union organization plays a particularly important role, being both a stable support, a regulating hinge, and a spiritual driving force for all cadres, civil servants, and workers to confidently complete their assigned political tasks, and at the same time a force to create solidarity and stability so that cadres, civil servants, and workers can confidently contribute, ” Comrade Nguyen Si Cuong emphasized.
