On May 26, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of comrade Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Politburo and former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the Embassy headquarters.
Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam, all officials and staff of the Embassy, their spouses, representatives of the Executive Committee of the Association of Vietnamese in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and many overseas Vietnamese living, studying and working in the Netherlands attended the memorial service.
On behalf of the Embassy, Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam signed the condolence book, expressing the infinite condolences of all officers and staff of the Embassy for former President Tran Duc Luong.

Mr. Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague, represented the City Government, ministries, branches and the Dutch Government to visit and sign the condolence book at the Embassy.
On the same day, many Ambassadors/Chargés d'Affaires, representatives of embassies and international organizations in the Netherlands visited, signed the condolence book, and sent diplomatic notes and letters of condolence expressing their sorrow at the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong and sending condolences to the Party, State and people of Vietnam as well as the family of comrade Tran Duc Luong.
