Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar participates in activities to celebrate International Francophonie Day

On April 1, towards the celebration of International Francophonie Day, the embassies of the countries belonging to the Francophone Community in Myanmar, including France, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, and Vietnam, in collaboration with the French Institute in Yangon (Institut Francais) organized a fair, introducing each country's culture, famous landscapes, cuisine , and combining exchanges between embassies.

At the fair, officials, employees and family members of the Vietnamese Embassy participated in displaying paintings and publications introducing the landscape, people and culture of Vietnam; children of officials had cultural exchanges with children of other countries; and participated in a knowledge contest about each member country; and introduced Vietnamese cuisine to four embassies as well as invited guests.

This is the first time in three years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and political turmoil in Myanmar that the embassies of the Francophone bloc in Myanmar have organized activities to celebrate the International Francophonie Day, enhancing mutual understanding. In addition, this is a useful activity for children of embassy staff to broaden their understanding of “La Francophonie”, the culture, cuisine and exchange with children of the member countries of the bloc.
