Ensuring the safety of women and girls in the digital age
On the morning of November 28, at Lam Vien Square - Da Lat (Lam Dong province), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held a rally to respond to the Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in 2025 with the theme "Gender Equality and Safety for Women and Girls in the Digital Age".

The rally was attended by about 600 delegates from the Vietnam Women's Union, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security , and departments and branches of Lam Dong province.

At the rally, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Minh Huong called for the cooperation of the whole society, continuing to accompany communication activities to raise awareness and actions on gender equality in the digital age and spreading positive messages about safety solutions in the digital space.
At the same time, encourage women and girls to actively learn to master technology, use technology safely and use technology as a launching pad for their own development as well as contribute to promoting the overall sustainable development of society.

Ms. Caroline Nyamayemombe, Chief Representative of UN Women, proposed three solutions to help Vietnam build a safer and more inclusive digital future for women and girls, including: continuing to improve relevant laws; promoting digital literacy, knowledge and skills for women and girls; and promoting society-wide efforts in eliminating gender stereotypes.

Since 2016, the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence has been held annually to raise social awareness of gender equality, contributing to spreading the message of protecting women and girls from violence; at the same time calling for the attention and commitment of all levels, sectors and the whole society in the process of achieving gender equality and ensuring safety for women and girls.
