Vietnam Airlines cooperates with UN Women to organize special flight "HeForShe 2025"

On November 1, Vietnam Airlines flight VN310 from Hanoi to Tokyo took off with the message “Gender equality for women around us”, opening the month of November with bright pink - the color symbolizing understanding, sharing and honoring the role of women in modern society. This is an activity within the global movement HeForShe launched by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), calling for the participation of men and the community in promoting gender equality.

The event was organized by Vietnam Airlines in collaboration with UN Women, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC), with the support of two enterprises Vinapharma and Vinanutrifood.

The special flight is part of the 2024-2027 cooperation agreement between Vietnam Airlines and UN Women, aiming to spread the message of gender equality and women's empowerment (GEWE) to passengers across the entire flight network. The activity is even more meaningful when it takes place in 2025, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Airlines.

With the participation of representatives of Vietnam Airlines, UN Women, Ministry of Home Affairs, VWEC and two accompanying enterprises Vinapharma and Vinanutrifood, flight VN310 became a journey of connection and strong spread of the message of gender equality, honoring the role and contributions of women in modern society.

At Noi Bai Airport, the check-in area was “painted pink” with banners, standees and photo corners bearing the message “Gender Equality – For the Women Around Us”. Passengers on the flight were given pink HeForShe T-shirts printed with the Vietnam Airlines and UN Women logos, symbolizing companionship and sharing. Communication videos on gender equality and women’s safety in the digital age were shown in the waiting area, creating a warm and inspiring atmosphere.

On board, the captain gave passengers a special greeting, shared the meaning of the flight and called for action for gender equality. Passengers were served a HeForShe-inspired meal and received a short introductory document on gender equality and safety in the digital space.

Upon landing in Tokyo, Vietnam Airlines representative in Japan welcomed passengers with a banner reading “Warm welcome to passengers on the HeForShe flight – Gender equality for women around us”, concluding the journey with a message of solidarity and humanity.

Mr. Do Dong Hung – Head of Communications Department of Vietnam Airlines said: “ The HeForShe flight is part of Vietnam Airlines’ long-term commitment to promoting gender equality and sustainable development. The airline wishes to spread the spirit of kindness, sharing and honoring the contributions of women in all areas of life. ”

In recent years, Vietnam Airlines and UN Women have coordinated to carry out many meaningful activities such as the “Orange Flight” in response to the 16-day campaign to end gender-based violence, contributing to raising awareness and promoting substantive gender equality in the community.

With a series of annual activities accompanying UN Women, the Ministry of Home Affairs, VWEC and businesses, Vietnam Airlines continues to affirm its role as a pioneer airline for sustainable development and social responsibility, spreading the pink color of humanity from Vietnam to the world.
