Comrade Nguyen Canh Toan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed his pleasure to welcome Comrade Vi Thao, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government and the delegation to visit and work in Lang Son. He emphasized that the visit demonstrated Guangxi's respect for Lang Son, and affirmed the determination of the two sides to continue to deepen the Lang Son - Guangxi cooperation relationship in a more substantial manner, on the basis of political trust and mutual benefit. In recent times, thoroughly grasping the important common perceptions of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two States, the cooperation between Lang Son - Guangxi has become one of the bright spots and exemplary models of local cooperation between the two countries.
Chairman Nguyen Canh Toan affirmed that, in recent times, the two sides have continued to effectively implement cooperation activities in many fields such as: people-to-people exchange, culture, sports, education, health, border management, crime prevention, etc. At the same time, cooperation has been expanded to new fields such as digital transformation, smart border gates, logistics, artificial intelligence and digital economy . In particular, economic and trade cooperation between the two sides has been maintained stably, making an important contribution to the total bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and China. Regarding infrastructure connectivity, the two sides have coordinated to upgrade and expand specialized routes for transporting goods in border areas; and implemented the pilot project to build smart border gates at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan international border gate pair.

He expressed his wish that Lang Son - Guangxi continue to promote the role of the Nanning (China) - Lang Son - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh (Vietnam) economic corridor as an exemplary connecting axis between China and ASEAN, and proposed a number of contents of mutual interest to both sides, focusing on promoting cooperation in the coming time: (1) Continue to implement common cooperation frameworks between the two sides; (2) on economy - trade and border gate connection; (3); on strategic planning and connection; upgrading border gates and expanding cooperation space; (4) on investment cooperation and new areas of cooperation; (5) on border management and prevention and combat of cross-border crimes; (6), cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two sides.

At the meeting, Comrade Vi Thao, Chairman of the Autonomous Region Government, thanked Lang Son province for the warm welcome to the Guangxi Delegation, and informed about some important results of the Delegation's visit and work in Vietnam this time. He also emphasized that Lang Son - Guangxi has a long-standing friendly and cooperative relationship and reviewed the achievements of cooperation between Lang Son - Guangxi in recent times, accordingly: the two sides have achieved important steps in building and connecting transport infrastructure; effectively implementing border management and preventing and combating cross-border crimes; and continuously deepening cooperation in areas such as humanistic exchange, education, and delegation exchanges at all levels.

Chairman Vi Thao also proposed a number of cooperation contents with Lang Son province in the coming time: (1) Lang Son should pay attention to speeding up the construction of smart border gates, and soon put them into official operation with Guangxi; (2) promote the connection of transport infrastructure, especially the construction of the Dong Dang - Hanoi standard gauge railway; (3) strengthen cross-border tourism cooperation; (4) strengthen border management cooperation, build a border emergency rescue coordination mechanism; (5) continue to further tighten the cooperative relationship and friendly exchanges between the two sides.

The two Presidents expressed their support for the proposals put forward by both sides at the talks, and affirmed that they will pay attention and direct relevant agencies of both sides to study and promote implementation in the coming time, in order to continue to strongly develop the friendly cooperation between Lang Son and Guangxi, becoming a model in local cooperation between Vietnam and China./.
