Ensuring construction safety, preventing landslides during the rainy season

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches; agencies, units, districts, cities, investors to carefully inspect and review the work of ensuring safety and preventing natural disasters at construction works in the area. Construction units have plans to ensure safety for equipment, machinery, and construction vehicles, paying special attention to works built in areas frequently affected by natural disasters, mountainous areas, along rivers, streams, and areas at high risk of landslides to promptly direct units to overcome limitations, ensuring the highest safety for people and works.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Construction, districts and cities, according to their functions and tasks, to be responsible for suspending construction of works that show signs of not ensuring safety or are at risk of causing landslides, affecting the flow and flood drainage. Resolutely organize relocation or have proactive plans to prevent landslides and evacuate when there is a bad situation to ensure safety and limit damage to people and property.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police, People's Committees of districts and cities to strengthen inspection, management and supervision of sand and gravel exploitation on rivers and streams to limit landslides on the basis of ensuring the supply of construction materials, especially for key national projects and traffic infrastructure projects; strictly handle cases of illegal exploitation and gathering of sand, gravel and construction materials according to the provisions of law.
