With the characteristics of a locality with many relics and scenic spots associated with Buddhist beliefs, Quang Ninh has a lot of experience in organizing large-scale cultural and spiritual events. The procession and installation of Buddha's relics this time is identified as a special event, attracting a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists from all over the world. The People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has promptly directed the Department of Health, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Uong Bi City to develop and implement a specific plan. Interdisciplinary working groups have been established to regularly inspect and supervise the field, promptly handling any arising issues.
Expecting a large number of people and tourists to flock to Yen Tu during the Buddha relic procession, Uong Bi City has directed the Uong Bi City Health Department to develop a plan to organize 24/7 duty in key areas, arrange human resources, vehicles and medical equipment on site to promptly handle emergency situations; strengthen epidemiological surveillance, disease prevention, especially infectious diseases in the community. In addition, mobile medical stations are flexibly arranged at crowded places, providing first aid services, health consultation and free medicine when necessary. The medical staff also coordinates with the Organizing Committee to disinfect and check the hygiene conditions in the ceremony area.
In particular, with a large number of food service establishments operating during the holiday, the authorities have closely inspected and monitored food trading activities, especially in areas around the Yen Tu relic site. Units such as the Health Department, Market Management No. 6, the Relic Site Management Board, etc. coordinated with other sectors to organize inspections and remind businesses to strictly ensure food safety, prices, product quality, etc. and resolutely handle violations. Food service establishments signed a commitment to comply with regulations, not to use food of unknown origin, and to ensure hygienic processing procedures.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Doan, Deputy Head of the Uong Bi City Health Department, said: The procession of Buddha's relics is an important spiritual event, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over. The unit proactively coordinates with related units to drastically implement measures to ensure food safety and prevent epidemics; arrange medical staff on duty to promptly support when situations arise. At the same time, carry out propaganda work in parallel, recommending people to take measures to protect personal health, wear masks and make medical declarations to promptly handle situations.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tam, Deputy Head of Market Management Team No. 6, Market Management Department (Department of Industry and Trade) said: Before, during and after the procession of Buddha's relics at Yen Tu, the unit maintained control of goods in circulation at Yen Tu Historical Site. In particular, special attention was paid to prices, quality, labels, and origin of products. Any acts of taking advantage of the event to unreasonably increase prices, trade in counterfeit or poor quality goods, or not posting prices according to regulations will be strictly handled according to the law. The goal is to ensure the rights of people and tourists, contribute to preserving the cultural image and commercial civilization of Yen Tu, and create an impression in the hearts of tourists.
Environmental sanitation is also one of the factors that receive special attention on this occasion. As the unit directly managing and operating services at the relic site, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company has proactively coordinated with functional agencies to deploy many measures to ensure the landscape environment and sanitary conditions for the event. Mr. Nguyen Van Thai, Director of the Cultural Service Center, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company, said: To ensure a clean and airy environment for people and tourists when they come to worship Buddha's relics, we have increased the number of staff to regularly clean the campus, added more public toilets, and mobile trash cans placed along the roads and rest areas. The unit mobilized more specialized vehicles to transport waste in a timely manner, keeping the space clean and civilized; coordinated with volunteers and youth union members to guide people to maintain public hygiene and not litter. Along with that, the landscape of the ceremony area is also decorated and cleaned, creating a solemn and peaceful feeling for worshipers, contributing to building a beautiful cultural image of behavior in the sacred Buddhist space.
According to the plan, the Buddha's relics were brought from the storage location to Quang Ninh by specialized means, ensuring absolute safety throughout the journey. The procession was held with traditional Buddhist rituals, under the chairmanship of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Executive Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Buddhist Sangha. As soon as the relics were welcomed to the Yen Tu area, the procession conducted a solemn welcoming ceremony at the Tam Quan gate, then moved to Truc Lam Palace - the official place to enshrine the relics for monks, nuns, Buddhists and people to worship.
