Accordingly, the Department of Health of provinces and cities directs drug production, trading and import establishments in the area to have plans to reserve and supply sufficient and timely drugs for treatment needs, especially ensuring the quantity of drugs for disease prevention, avoiding drug shortages and fluctuations in drug prices.
Medical facilities must proactively make a list of essential medicines for the people, promptly plan, order and purchase additional medicines, and reserve them to ensure that there are enough medicines to serve medical situations affected by storms, floods, and epidemics. For establishments that produce, trade, and import medicines, they must prepare a source of quality medicines at reasonable prices to prioritize adequate and timely supply for the needs of disease prevention and control.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam shall prioritize and consider and resolve according to regulations import orders for drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients that do not have circulation registration certificates to meet urgent needs in disease prevention and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and catastrophes.
