This school year, Long Luong Primary School has over 742 students, 36 classes, including 7 satellite schools. In winter, the temperature here is often low, humidity is high, there is a lot of fog, and sometimes there is frost. To ensure the health of students, as soon as November comes, the school adjusts the class start time to 15 minutes later, shortening recess to 10 minutes. At the same time, outdoor activities are limited on cold days, instead, teachers organize some physical activities in the classroom between lessons, helping students increase their body temperature.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hong, Vice Principal of Long Luong Primary School, shared: The school's facilities include 46 classrooms and functional rooms, ensuring they are solid, airtight, and have adequate lighting to serve teaching and learning activities well. Along with solutions to keep students warm in the winter, the school has mobilized social resources and benefactors to receive 100 coats and scarves for students in difficult circumstances.
At Van Ho Kindergarten, for nearly a month now, the school has adjusted the children's lunch time 30 minutes earlier, so that students can study and rest earlier during the cold season. The meal is hygienic with full of hot, delicious and nutritious meat and vegetables. After the meal, the school prepares warm water for children to clean themselves, and uses separate towels and tissues for children when coughing and sneezing to prevent the spread of pathogens.

Teacher Dong Thi Thom said: This school year, the school has 710 children, 36 classes with 10 separate locations, of which the farthest location is more than 25 km from the center. The classrooms are solid, the floors are covered with foam carpets, and there are blankets and warm mattresses for the children to take naps. The school's Board of Directors directs teachers in charge of classes to closely monitor the children's health, regularly communicate and remind parents to pay attention to keeping their children warm when taking them to and from school.
Ms. Ban Thi Thanh, Suoi Lin village, Van Ho commune, shared: My family always prepares warm clothes for our children; and works with the teachers to inform them about their health status and take care of them during the days when the temperature drops. I feel very secure when sending my children to school.

After the merger, Van Ho commune has 10 educational facilities with over 5,800 students, including 601 boarding students. As soon as the new school year began, the People's Committee of the commune allocated a budget of over 620 million VND to upgrade and repair classrooms and boarding rooms for schools. Up to now, 100% of the rooms and classrooms are solid, semi-solid, airtight, and have enough light. In addition, the commune directed schools to organize boarding meals with reasonable and nutritious meals. Monitor weather forecasts on cold air conditions to have plans to adjust study time and ensure students' health.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of Van Ho Commune People's Committee, informed: The commune also directed schools to coordinate with health stations to organize health check-ups for students; increase food rations for students during winter days. For days with low temperatures, units let students take time off from school according to regulations, and on days with large temperature fluctuations, schools change the timetable for students to study accordingly.

Caring for students, ensuring their health during winter, helping to maintain a stable number of students attending class, performing well in teaching and learning activities, contributing to improving the quality of education.
